Role overview:
We are looking for a Senior Solution Consultant to partner closely with our Commercial teams and customers, providing technical and solution design expertise across e-commerce payment opportunities across our Enterprise and mid-market customers.
This is a customer-facing role where you’ll use your technical knowledge to provide sales support and act as the bridge between sales, product, engineering, and delivery—helping prospects and clients understand how Planet’s products and solutions can support their business objectives and solve their payment challenges.
You will be responsible for managing the entire solution lifecycle, collaborating with commercial teams and customers to identify opportunities, define customer requirements, and initiate internal projects and delivery processes. Your efforts will ensure successful implementation and deployment, directly contributing to both project outcomes and revenue growth.
What you will do:
Support Commercial teams throughout the sales lifecycle, from discovery through close.
Act as the technical and solutions expert in the region for Planet’s products, integrations and platform capabilities.
Lead customer discovery sessions to understand business requirements, technical environments, and integration needs.
Align the Planet end-to-end payment solutions with the customer use cases, including DCC, MCP, POS integrations, online checkout flows, and omnichannel experiences.
Deliver compelling solution presentations and product demonstrations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Respond to RFPs/RFIs and contribute to proposals with solution architectures and technical content.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to provide feedback from the field and influence roadmap priorities.
Support proof-of-concepts and pilot implementations where required.
Ensure smooth handover from sales to implementation, documenting solution designs and customer requirements.
Stay current on Planet’s product portfolio, payment technologies, and industry trends.
Who you are:
Experience in a Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, or Technical Pre-Sales role within payments.
Proven experience in payments, fintech, e‑commerce platforms, or SaaS solution consulting.
Strong understanding of online payment flows, gateways, fraud tools, card schemes, alternative payment methods, and subscription billing.
Technical proficiency with APIs, webhooks, SDKs, and common integration patterns.
Comfortable engaging with both business and technical stakeholders.
Experience supporting enterprise or mid-market commercial sales teams.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Familiarity with POS systems, commerce platforms, or hospitality/retail environments is a plus.
Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
