Lead Cloudflare's Infrastructure Engineering team, managing resources and strategic projects, ensuring technical innovations meet business needs, and mentoring engineers.
Available Locations: London, UK
About the role
Cloudflare's Infrastructure Engineering Teams build and run the systems, networks, and software that support our solutions that handle trillions of requests per month. We ensure that all of the new and existing features and functionality that Cloudflare offers can be managed at scale and meet the needs of our massively growing, global customer base. This role can be filled by either a Senior Manager or Director, depending on experience.
What you'll do
We are looking for a visionary leader to join Cloudflare's Infrastructure Engineering team and help lead a strategic evolution of Cloudflare's infrastructure, shaping how we scale and manage the resources which underpin all of Cloudflare's products. You will collaborate with leaders within and beyond our organization to re-envision how Cloudflare infrastructure is managed at our current and future scale. This will require building strong relationships with senior leaders in data center design & operations, network design & operations as well as capacity planning and SRE. You understand that truly complex problems are solved not just with "code" but also through people and effective processes. You will lead a team of talented engineers and be responsible for channeling their experience with bare-metal distributed systems towards realizing the vision.
You demonstrate a passion for meeting business needs by building technical, innovative solutions. You understand how business goals translate into technical requirements. You will provide exceptional technical leadership, guiding your team through complex architectural decisions. You thrive in a fast-paced iterative engineering environment. You build great relationships with internal customers and deeply understand their needs, and you build motivated, high-velocity, and largely independent engineering teams. Most importantly, you have a track record of having past teams respect you as both a technical leader and manager.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
