You will have a strategic opportunity to help shape the development of our fast-growing European business and keep pace with the challenges of regulatory change.
This role will; (i) lead Vanguard in assessing the implications of European regulations, (ii) strategically consider how to incorporate and implement change across the business and (iii) ensure and strategically drive appropriate disclosure of these activities in reporting deliverables. Ultimately this role will fulfil the mandate to effectively implement regulatory change across our European business and work with Senior stakeholders to drive the right outcomes for the firm.

In this role you will:

 ·        Strategically support the analysis of European regulation to understand the key implications for Vanguard, ‘joining the dots’ with other key Projects and Regulations.

·        Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the business to understand where change is required to meet European regulatory requirements and drive business change.

·        Support and oversee the production of detailed documentation to record requirements and prepare executive-level communications to summarise the high-level impact, along side delivery of these messages.

·        Support, oversee and lead workshops to design implementation solutions to incorporate change across the business. Critically ‘cut through’ noise across the organization to reach the desired outcome.

·        Develop, manage and execute project plans, utilizing the wider RPO resource pool and define the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.

·        Strategically plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage activities required to deliver the project on time, to desired quality and efficiently.

·        Benefit from coaching and mentorship from Vanguard Europe’s senior management within the Operations organization.

Core Responsibilities:

·        Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide mentorship and training as vital to develop crew. Set performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

·        Manage crew and project activities. Drive all phases of the project lifecycle from inception through implementation while ensuring that business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes.

·        You will be responsible for all project-level communication and change management activities in support of all project workstreams. Triages capacity, complexity, and scope of project messaging and delivery of all communications.

·        Build and manages relationships across sub-divisions and both internal and external partners to support project initiatives. Develops positive relationships with project leadership and workstream leads. Influences key decisions across stakeholders.

·        Assist team with the identification, evaluation, and resolution of potential obstacles which may have an impact on the completion of projects or communications. Elevates items of high concern to senior management, focusing on recommended courses of action.

·        Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

·        Able to think critically and strategically, navigate ambiguity and identify interdependencies.

·        Effective communicator, able to articulate challenges and solutions simply and clearly.

·        Able to see and understand the big picture, while being able to deep-dive into the detail.

·        Able to build and develop strong relationships across diverse partner teams, specifically with senior management across Vanguard.

·        Highly organised, efficient, adapt to fast paced execution and good at managing and influencing senior stakeholders.

·        A self-starter, able to independently identify and progress workstreams.

·        Ambitious and eager to develop your career in the regulatory change space.

·        An inherent focus on strategic delivery and an ability to ‘join the dots’ across the organisation, especially against specific risk management, governance and board reporting requirements.

·        A detailed and in-depth understanding of Regulatory obligations and the environment in which they operate.

·        Previous experience in delivering large scale regulatory change in a financial institution.

·        Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred.
