The role
Reporting into the Director Engineering for Commercial modifications Europe, the Senior Engineering Manager Payloads coordinates all activities with regards to the development of departmental engineering data, leading to the approval of aircraft level STCs, minor changes and minor repairs under the Company's EASA Part 21 subpart J approved Design Organisation approval. The successful candidate will bring with them strong project leadership, technical mentoring and decision-making skills
The candidate will be leading and responsible for engineering teams, while abiding to the DOA processes and procedures in compliance with EASA Part 21 requirements.

Senior Manager Payloads Engineering
The role

The candidate will be leading and responsible for engineering teams, while abiding to the DOA processes and procedures in compliance with EASA Part 21 requirements.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with customers, sales, and marketing teams on product capabilities and features
- Develop and implement plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for the engineering team as part of engineering services
- Possess an understanding of engineering job practices, certification techniques, industry standards, principles, theories and concepts
- Effectively manage resources in collaboration with the global engineering team
- Ensure that the required documents are prepared within time frames to be provided to the Agency for approval
- Provide guidelines for generation of engineering processes and documents including drawings, bulletins and supplements
- Work in collaboration with the Head of Design Organization and Head of Office of Airworthiness to ensure design organization procedures continue to meet the quality and performance metrics of the business
- Provide regular feedback to the Head of Engineering- EASA modifications on the performance of the teams
- Responsible for day-to-day project management of departmental engineering activities including time management and budgeting
- Technical management of departmental engineering teams
- Develop and execute departmental plans, policies and procedures, providing input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives

Basic Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in aeronautical or engineering field or higher
- Proven track record in aircraft modification engineering
- Good working knowledge of EASA Part 21, the requirements for large aircraft as well as aircraft level Integration and Interiors Design / Production
- 1+ years prior experience in managing a Payloads team at Boeing
- 10+ years prior experience with Boeing processes and procedures
Preferred Qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a design & certification-related engineering role
- Current or previous experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) is desirable
- Knowledge of FAA, GCAA and other airworthiness authority regulations would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Airbus and Boeing wide-body/narrow body types is essential
- Ability to deal with management at all levels, both internally and externally
- Willingness to take ownership of challenges within the business
- Ability to drive change to working practices and procedures to improve and enhance the Company business model
- Must be willing to mentor, develop and motivate first line managers and engineering staff
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt to other cultures and styles of doing business
