What work you’ll be responsible for: 
  • Responsible for research and analysis of various federal income tax issues, including partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, timing issues and accounting methods, digital assets, and other matters  

  • Assist with M&A tax structuring, internal restructuring 

  • Draft emails and memos 

  • Draft Firm-wide alerts on current developments in federal income tax

  • Assist with Firm-wide trainings in federal income tax 

  • Assist with Federal domestic tax due diligence in connection with M&A transactions 

Basic Qualifications: 
  • 8+ years of progressive federal income tax consulting experience (large law firm, large accounting firm, or IRS preferred) 

  • J.D. required (Tax LL.M. Preferred) 

  • Experience working with partnerships, S corporations, and/or C corporations 

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Tax LL.M 

  • Experience from a large accounting firm, large law firm, or IRS 

  • Strong proficiency with tax research databases (Bloomberg BNA, RIA Checkpoint)

For Minnesota and Illinois, the expected salary range for this position is between $140,000 to 230,000. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
