Senior Manager - Motion Design

Job title: Senior Manager, Motion Design

Location: Leeds, UK

Overview of the role:

We’re looking for a highly creative and strategic Senior Motion Design Manager who will be responsible for leading the development, and delivery of world-class motion design across digital platforms, and Live Event experiences. This role combines high-level creative direction with hands-on technical expertise, ensuring that every motion asset enhances storytelling, strengthens brand identity, and engages audiences. The Senior Motion Manager will act as both a visionary and a mentor, guiding a team of motion designers while collaborating across departments to deliver compelling and innovative work.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

Our Leeds office is at the heart of our business. The 8-storey building has an onsite staff gym and cafeteria, two heated rooftop terraces, a dedicated gaming room and a staircase amphitheatre. The space brings all our teams under one roof in the biggest private letting office in Yorkshire.

What you’ll do:

Motion isn’t just about animation or design — it’s about creating experiences that move people, visually and emotionally.

We’re looking for someone who understands how motion brings stories to life, captures attention, and strengthens brand connection. Someone who can think big while guiding a team to deliver bold, consistent, on-brand work from concept through to final delivery.

You’ll combine creative craft with strategic thinking — pairing innovative design with practical execution. You don’t just follow trends; you help shape them. And you know how to bring creatives, producers, and technical teams together to ensure motion integrates seamlessly across all content.

Join us to help elevate our storytelling and bring innovation to every frame.

  • Work alongside the Head of Creative and Senior Creative Manager to define and drive the creative vision for motion design across campaigns, events, and brand initiatives.

  • Translate brand guidelines and campaign concepts into impactful motion content.

  • Manage ideation, storyboarding, and conceptual development for animation and motion projects.

  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of in-house motion designers, animators, and external freelancers.

  • Work closely with project managers to allocate resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects, balancing creative ambition with delivery requirements.

  • Maintain high production standards, ensuring all outputs are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.

  • Stay up to date with trends, tools, and emerging technologies in motion graphics, animation, and immersive media.

  • Introduce new techniques and workflows that enhance efficiency, creativity, and quality.

  • Explore opportunities in AR, VR, real-time rendering, and interactive motion experiences to keep the brand at the forefront of innovation.

What you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years' experience in motion design, animation, or visual effects, with at least 3 years spent in a senior or leadership capacity.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in 2D and 3D motion graphics, animation, and storytelling.

  • Expert knowledge of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator, with familiarity in Blender, Unreal Engine, or other advanced motion tools.

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor motion design teams.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Experience managing budgets, supplier relationships, and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience producing motion content for live events, broadcasts, or large-scale productions.

  • Familiarity with content marketing and performance-led creative.
