What we are seeking: Maxar is seeking a London based Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications to join Maxar's International Government Leadership Team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented strategic thinker with strong communication skills and a passion for driving business by development and execution of strategic marketing plans.

This Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, International Government will be responsible for driving business in concert with regional field teams through deepening our relationships and market awareness across the end-use customers and international governments ecosystem. The Role: As a Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, International Government, your job is to drive and lead integrated marketing and communications plans and thought leadership that helps to move the needle on Maxar's growth plans. You will be expected to:
Think Strategically:

  • Leverage your knowledge and expertise working within government markets to create, plan, and execute international government marketing plans and campaigns to reach government decision makers and influencers to meet strategic business priorities.
  • Monitor competitive marketing campaigns and industry news cycles to understand the competitive landscape and positioning and to provide regular updates to the international government leadership and sales teams on Maxar's competition.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with international government associations and industry partners to maximize Maxar's participation in programming and leadership with these organizations
  • Develop and lead a creative strategy to showcase Maxar's government capabilities and solutions
  • Develop strong partnerships with International Government leadership team and regional sales teams to build and execute marketing plans around strategic activities, desired relationships and business strategies that optimize business opportunities and deliver results.


Act Tactically:

  • Direct responsibility for leading international government related events and tradeshows with strategic marketing plans and collateral, securing thought leadership opportunities and developing materials for the international government leadership team
  • Take a "hands-on" approach in proactively engaging sales teams to build integrated marketing strategies and plans for significant pursuits and product lunches.
  • Review and approve various external and internal assets for messaging accuracy and consistency
  • Partner with US Government and US Enterprise communications team to support media events and related communications campaigns
  • Collaborate with cross functional peers - event management, corporate communications, business public relations, creative, brand and corporate marketing to ensure messaging and brand consistency through all deliverables
  • Showcase marketing successes through development of KPIs and feedback to regional sales/BD teams; provide recommendations for optimization and continued performance
  • Represent Maxar at user conferences, and a variety of public speaking engagements. Guide the positioning and articulation of our key value propositions to targeted, high value customers.
  • Support internal communications for the International Government segment as needed


Understand Our Customers:

  • Leverage your government industry and mission domain knowledge when developing strategic marketing plans to grow business and brand awareness and increase market share for Maxar Intelligence.
  • Demonstrate government industry and foreign relations knowledge and its relevance to the application of remote sensing and earth observation.
  • Identify key stakeholders and business drivers for international government customers.
  • Ad-hocly support some key partners/resellers with marketing & communications as they relate to Maxar


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a relevant field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience
  • Ability to distill complicated aerospace and defense capabilities into easily consumed marketing communications
  • Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally averaging about 25% with potential peaks up to 40% travel
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities across regions


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in government marketing and communications
  • Experience working within the Earth Imagery, GEOINT markets highly desired
  • Demonstrated success with campaign marketing metrics and KPI's tied to business objectives
  • Outstanding leadership and management skills
  • Understanding of business development pipeline and the ability to create strategic shaping and capture plans to achieve to Maxar growth targets
  • Experience working in a cross-functional marketing and communications team environment.
  • Multi-lingual with communication skills in English, Spanish and other languages
  • Impeccable copy writing and editing skills and experience in tailoring messaging for multiple audiences
  • Adaptable to change in response new to information and feedback; Able to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information
