The role is part of the Account to Report team, leading a team to execute accurate and timely financial accounting activities for multiple entities in the CSL Behring US and Plasma organization, including (but not restricted to): leading and mentoring a team of 5 staff; overseeing finance data management; planning and budgeting activities; providing guidance for complex transactions; overseeing group and local audits and delivering local statutory reports. The role has a focus on continuous improvement, supporting ATR projects and initiatives, and supporting the wider Finance organisation as a key contact for escalated issues.

This role will report into the Associate Director, Head of Financial Accounting, CSL Behring and have 5 Direct Reports.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Lead the Financial Accounting team to deliver accurate and timely execution of Financial Accounting activities in adherence to the Group financial timetable.
  • Oversee the activities of the Financial Accounting team, including quality review, managing work assignment, and ensuring adherence to the compliance & control framework, including timely updates of financial data and completion of all activities required for planning and budgeting.
  • Support the wider finance team with the reporting, reconciliation and analysis of key financial metrics, including plasma cost and commercial gross to net sales.
  • Manage group and local audits and statutory reporting for responsible entities, leading the end-to-end ATR process and tracking deliverables.
  • Balance sheet and cash flow forecasting / budgeting, including support of transacting in planning system.
  • Manage team performance against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and SLAs (Service Level Agreements) defined as part of the service management framework
  • Lead, motivate and develop employees within the team including long-term talent development and succession planning. Manage performance with a focus on meeting service agreements and continuously enhancing Finance staff, while role modelling CSL Values.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree in related field desirable
  • Professional accounting certification required
  • 7+ years' relevant experience in a multi-national company
  • 2-5 years' supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Good Microsoft Office skills – in particular Excel and Word.
  • Results orientated and results driven individual who takes ownership and works independently.
  • Effective communication skills, persuasive, pragmatic and flexible.
  • Previous experience of SAP desirable
  • History of process improvement in prior roles.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)

** Hybrid Working model - 3 days per week in Liverpool office)
