POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain Senior Manager is a key contributor to supply chain management and infrastructure build.
The Senior Manager is the primary Supply Chain contact on multi-compound or franchise teams. As a main contact with contract manufacturing and logistics partners for cross-project issues, the Senior Manager is regarded as an emerging expert in a Supply Chain discipline, providing reliable and valuable advice to other Project Teams on regular basis. Implements process consistency across projects.
The position is located in London, UK and will report to the Director of Commercial Supply Chain Planning based in London, UK.
This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days a week in the office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ownership of Supply Chain activities associated with the provision of Commercial Pharmaceutical Materials on large/multi-faceted projects
- Works with colleagues from other departments to develop, maintain and refine cross-functional business processes
- Primary point of contact with contract manufacturing partners for cross-project issues
- Develops and revises SOPs to support supply chain activities
- Collaborates with peers/management to develop tools and standards for department functions
- Contributes to the development of global supply and procurement strategies
- Identifies needs for software and IT systems support and works with IT to create user requirements and implement effective solutions
- Works with various cross-functional groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects
- As a manager, may oversee a team of Supply Chain staff and have related human resources or financial accountabilities, including performance management, hiring, budgeting, etc.
EDUCATION:
- Preferred STEM education
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- In-depth experience in customer services, order management and logistics for pharmaceutical products
- Proven experience working with 3rd party logistics providers (3PLs) and in export shipping requirements for various global regions
- Ability to oversee order management in a dynamic, high-volume environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, bringing a new perspective to existing solutions and exercising judgement based on technical experience
- Skilled at preparing and presenting informational and compelling reports, delivering to a variety of audiences
- Skilled at creative problem solving within the boundaries of Standard Operating Procedures
- Excellent ability to collaborate with other functional areas and build effective, productive business relationships
- In-depth understanding of supply chain concepts/methods/theories and strong knowledge of regulations relating to pharmaceutical supply chain activities (cGMP, GDP, GCP, import/export, computer systems/Part 11)
- Significant project management skills and highly proficient at managing, tracking, and measuring project progress.
- Displays proven effectiveness in managing customer expectations, communicating in complex or sensitive situations and influencing/guiding others to build alignment on a proposed solution or topic
- Highly proficient with use of applicable software systems
- Experience in building and managing high-performing teams
TRAVEL:
- This position might require 15% travel to suppliers and Vertex offices internationally.
