The Pepperstone story started in 2010. We know what it’s like to trade the world’s markets. Our team describes us as a place for the curious and the driven, and we like to do things a little differently; as a transformative global fintech we’re digital, nimble, connected and united in our vision to create a better way to trade.

We thrive on progress – for our clients and for ourselves. Our organisational culture is ever-evolving, vibrant, diverse, global and results focused.

You’ll find our 700+ team currently across 12 locations and 9 time zones.

The Role

The Senior Manager, Business Operations - Product will partner with the GM, Product to turn Product strategy into execution, keeping the function connected, transparent and outcome-focused.

You’ll maintain a clear view across priorities, roadmaps, delivery, resources and performance, flagging risks and dependencies early. You’ll translate strategy into measurable goals and executable plans, keep roadmaps, Jira and delivery aligned across Product and Engineering, and remove blockers independently.

You’ll also provide leadership with a reliable view of product, client, commercial and delivery metrics, and drive cross-product initiatives spanning multiple domains and functions.

This is a senior, highly autonomous role for someone who combines strategic thinking with operational discipline and sound judgement, and who turns ambiguity into clear recommendations and action.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a trusted operational partner to the GM, Product, translating Product strategy into measurable goals, porfolio priorities, roadmaps and executable plans, and surfacing issues requiring GM attention with clear context and recommendations
  • Maintain a consolidated view of Product priorities and investment across domains, ensuring strategic priorities are reflected in where Product and Technology effort is focused
  • Lead the portfolio prioritisation and quarterly planning, bringing together client impact, commercial value, strategic importance, dependencies, delivery complexity and available capacity
  • Maintain a reliable portfolio-level view of execution across Product and Engineering, connecting Product roadmaps, strategic initiatives and work in Jira to provide visibility of progress, ownership, dependencies and delivery risk
  • Work with Product and Engineering leaders to identify slippage, dependencies, capacity constraints and misalignment between agreed priorities and work in execution
  • Proactively resolve issues where possible and escalate material risks to the GM, Product with clear analysis, impact, options and recommended actions
  • Maintain a clear view of performance across Product domains, working with Product leaders and Data & BI to establish meaningful client, Product, commercial and delivery metrics and assess whether investments are delivering their intended outcomes
  • Own and coordinate the Product reporting cadence, including bi-weekly and monthly reporting, quarterly reviews, portfolio updates and relevant leadership materials
  • Identify trends, areas of underperformance and emerging risks, providing insight and recommendations rather than simply consolidating status updates
  • Independently lead and coordinate selected strategic initiatives spanning multiple Product domains, Technology teams or business functions
  • Translate strategic initiatives into clear outcomes, owners, milestones, dependencies and measures of success, maintaining momentum through to delivery
  • Establish appropriate governance through Product leadership forums, SteerCos and other relevant business forums ensuring decisions, risks, actions and commitments are clearly owned and followed through
  • Maintain a consolidated view of Product and relevant Engineering capacity against strategic priorities, identifying resource gaps, competing demands and opportunities to reallocate investment
  • Support Product financial, resource and workforce planning, partnering with Finance and P&C on budgets, forecasting, investment proposals and organisation decisions and investment proposals
  • Provide appropriate oversight of Product vendors, SOWs, invoices and other operational requirements
  • Product operating model and transformation
  • Work with Product and Engineering leadership to improve ownership, decision rights, planning ,accountability and ways of working across teams
  • Support Product and Engineering teams in adopting AI-native approaches to product development, workflow management and delivery, identifying opportunities to automate repetitive work and improve the speed and quality of execution
  • Drive adoption and optimisation of tools and ways of working that improve portfolio visibility, productivity and collaboration

About you

  • Proven experience in a senior Product Operations, Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, Programme or similar role within a complex Product and Technology organisation
  • Strong understanding of Product and Engineering operating models, including Product strategy, portfolio management, roadmaps, prioritisation, capacity planning and outcome-based Product management
  • Experience using Jira to manage initiatives, dependencies, portfolio visibility and delivery reporting across multiple teams
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into executable plans and maintain alignment between strategic priorities and day-to-day execution
  • Strong analytical capability, using Product, commercial, client and delivery data to identify risks, opportunities and recommended actions
  • Strong programme management skills, with the ability to drive complex cross-functional initiatives through ambiguity to measurable outcomes
  • Strong judgement and organisational awareness, with the ability to independently progress issues while recognising when decisions, risks or trade-offs require GM-level intervention
  • Experience in financial planning, resource and capacity management within a Product or Technology environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and create alignment across Product, Engineering and senior stakeholders
  • High degree of autonomy, initiative and ownership, with the ability to make progress with limited direction
  • Highly outcomes and metrics driven, with a strong bias towards delivery, pace and continuous improvement
