Job Description

What will you be doing?

We're seeking a talented individual at Senior Manager level to join our VAT Tax Team in the North, which is responsible for providing VAT compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients.

You will be managing your own portfolio of clients, working with Directors or alone on complicated consultancy and advisory projects. A significant part of the role will be managing client relationships and identifying opportunities on existing clients as well as potentially developing a specialist field of technical and/or sector knowledge and expertise.

As a Senior Manager or Associate Director your responsibilities will include; 

  • Overseeing complex VAT projects and engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction
  • Developing and implementing VAT strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize efficiency 
  • Provide expert advice on VAT matters to clients, including multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals
  • Leading and managing a team of VAT professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to develop their skills and expertise
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in VAT legislation and communicate implications to clients 
  • Collaborating with other tax and advisory teams to provide comprehensive solutions to clients
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client presentations
  • Managing client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on VAT-related matters
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of VAT operations

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in VAT consulting or corporate tax roles
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams
  • Advanced knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance
  • In-depth understanding of VAT legislation and its practical application
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience in building and maintaining client relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA)
