Company Description

Who We Are

SquareTrade is the fastest growing partner in the global device protection market and we work with many of the world’s largest operators, retailers and manufacturers. Our obsession with putting the customer first, from our transparent T&Cs to our better products, always available online claim filing and our flexible resolution options, are all underpinned by our exceptional team. This is the secret behind how we’ve continued to shake up the industry. We are the ones transforming a “bad” service category into something that empowers people to take care of the things that keep life running smoothly. Together, we’re united by the same end goal: to completely change what people expect from an insurance plan.

We now protect over 140 million devices globally and work across Europe, with partners including Apple, T-Mobile and Telenor. We have been first to market with a number of key innovations, including fully-digital claims, choice of resolution option, next day exchange and same-day services via local and on-site repair. Our European ambition continues to grow as we step into new sectors including B2B, CE insurance and trade in products.

Job Description

We are looking for experienced Account Manager to lead the relationship with our customers in Germany.

The role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to own one of our major accounts, work cross-functionally (within Europe and the US) and gain visibility with our senior leadership team.

The role reports into the Director for Account Partnerships and they are looking for someone with the experience that can take the lead on managing the account independently.

The ideal candidate will raise the bar in terms of relationship building, analytical rigor and taking ownership for projects and initiatives. The relationship with the client will be key to making the account a success. In particular, we are looking for someone who can develop strong relationships with all levels of the business - Directors, C-suite, store managers and advisors. The role requires someone with a commercial and analytical mindset that can take the data that we receive, identify opportunities and trends and translate that into actionable insight. The successful candidate will have a high degree of ownership - someone who is motivated by leading projects through to their delivery.

There will be a degree of travel to Germany,  particularly at the start, as we look to develop meaningful relationships with the client. They have a strong retail presence so you will be working closely with our field team to ensure that this channel is meeting its potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the owner of the business relationship between SquareTrade and your partner(s). You will be responsible for managing the weekly relationships, delivering for the partner and supporting them on their needs.

  • Taking the data supplied by our partners to report both internally and externally. We need someone who can not only understand what the data is saying but take that to form a compelling story that appeals to the audience they are presenting to.

  • Using these analytical skills to internally understand the trends of the business, where the opportunities are and what needs to be done to address them.

  • Taking the insight you are generating to partner meetings to influence the change that is needed.

  • Be a real owner of the account and projects you lead. Ensuring that stakeholders are meeting the deadlines outlined, that you are delivering the work that is needed and not allowing obstacles to slow things down.

  • Ensure the operational excellence of the account by working with the Ops team (CS, CX and Supply Chain) to report on performance and ensure we are providing the best service to the customer

  • Identify the big projects that are needed to move the needle on the account. Work with the necessary teams to create a project plan, own their delivery, set them live and measure success.

  • The ability to think about the long-term and identify the strategic projects that will drive the most value to the business and your partner

  • Support the Director on additional accounts within the business, applying the skills outlined above on their accounts

  • As you establish yourself in the role, take on cross-functional projects that will deliver value for multiple accounts/teams across the business
