Senior Management Accountant responsible for customer rebate accruals, settlements, reporting, reconciliations, financial controls, and commercial analysis. The role manages a small analyst team, collaborates with Finance, Operations, Commercial, and cash teams, supports audits, and improves rebate data quality, automation, and reporting processes. It requires strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, analytical and commercial judgment, and experience managing stakeholders and deadlines.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, process-minded and commercially-focused Senior Management Accountant to support the STARK UK Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing customer rebate data, managing settlements and providing insight to support commercial decision-making across a £2bn business.Working with stakeholders across Finance, Operations and Commercial teams, they will help ensure that customer rebate processes are well controlled, accurate and deliver the intended commercial value to the business.Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of customer rebate accruals and settlements, maintaining robust financial controls throughout the process.
- Produce regular reporting on accrued customer rebates in line with agreed customer deals, including detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
- Line management of a customer rebate analyst reporting into Brand Financial Controllers.
- Calculate detailed customer rebate settlements using large volumes of complex data reliably and in a timely manner.
- Work closely with operational and cash teams to process customer rebate settlements through the financial year.
- Analyse customer rebate performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities across key customer groups, deals and brands.
- Take ownership of the customer rebate reporting framework, identifying opportunities to improve data quality, controls, efficiency and automation including system implementation.
- Support in audits, compliance checks, and process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations for senior management.
- Previous experience in Finance Analyst, Management Accountant, or similar role, ideally within the construction supply, retail, or distribution sectors.
- Experience of managing, developing and motivating a small team.
- Studying towards or qualified in a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Experience working with external audit processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to work with non-finance colleagues across multiple functions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
