We are seeking a Senior Legal Operations Specialist to optimize legal processes, drive efficiency, and support technology adoption. In this role, you will strategically manage law firm and ALSP engagements, as well as critical contracting processes for the Chief Legal Officer’s (CLO) team. Reporting to the Head of Global CLO Operations and Innovation, you will drive strategies to enhance the CLO team's operational effectiveness and support Ferring’s growth agenda. Your day at Ferring
- eBilling System Management: Accountability for the Brightflag eBilling system and processes, including oversight and optimization of the billing process, collaboration of CLO law firm and ALSP spend across all billing platforms, accruals & analysis, and related activities.
- Contract Management: Be accountable for the Icertis Contract Management System and processes, including system enhancements and processes for a better user experience, while overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end contract lifecycle process, including tools, templates, and approval workflows, while looking for opportunities to simplify and innovate.
- CLO Intake Systems: work with the CLO Ops team to help optimize the intake system, improving CLO team workflows and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally within the CLO team and with departments such as Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and IT to ensure the optimal operating environment for both eBilling and contract management systems.
- Best Practices and Compliance: Help drive best practices in legal services engagement and global contracting, including monitoring and helping manage vendors, contributing to the strategic update of our Billing Guidelines, Engagement Letters, and contracting tools / templates to be best in market, and being an active member of the relevant market networks to perform benchmarking across the industry for relevant services, technology, trends, and innovation.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply a Continuous Improvement mindset to identify opportunities to innovate and simplify both legal services engagement and contracting processes, employing and promoting Design Thinking throughout your processes and approaches.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Partner with the Brightflag and Icertis teams to identify potential improvements to the systems and processes, as well as develop and maintain strategic roadmaps that address the stakeholder’s needs and drive innovation and adaptation over time.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Embrace a love for data to enable reporting and analysis that helps us understand our law firm and ALSP spend, contracting environment, and provides data-driven insights into areas of opportunity.
- Global Legal Operations Projects: Participate in and sometimes drives Global Legal Operations projects, supporting the Global Head of CLO Operations and Innovation in helping drive the CLO Services Model to provide optimal business partnership to Ferring.
- Liaison and Improvement Identification: Act as a Legal Operations liaison for the entire CLO department, assisting where needed and identifying opportunities for improvement or collaboration across the team.
Behind our innovation…There’s you
- 5+ years of Legal Operations or related professional operations experience in a corporate support department or law firm; experience with eBilling and contract management systems and related processes required.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong analytical and excellent organizational skills, with a curiosity mindset – you should love solving problems!
- Passion for innovation and staying ahead of technology trends in legal operations and AI.
- Good interpersonal skills, customer service orientation and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships; works well in team environment
- Strong verbal & written comm skills, esp in English
- Strong technical skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a must
- Highest integrity and demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
- Results and detail orientation
