Senior Legal Counsel

Sounds great, what will I be doing? 🤔

As our Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll focus on corporate legal matters but take on a variety of other work such as employment, compliance, marketing, and risk. You will report directly to our General Counsel and line manage a team of two. You will be responsible for overseeing the administration of our share schemes, managing our group entities, assisting with funding rounds and supporting with M&A (as and when needed). You’ll also be supporting our People team on employment-related matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, policies and legal compliance. In addition, you will handle risk and compliance matters such as anti-bribery, sanctions and modern slavery, as well managing enterprise risk and supporting our ESG initiatives. 

It’s also fun; shaking things up is what working for a growing company is all about. So you’ll need to be flexible, comfortable with continuous change, and working in a high-tempo environment as we grow.

What do I need to bring with me? 🧳

You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you’re willing to learn. Here’s what the team will be looking for:

👉 Qualified solicitor with a valid practising certificate in the UK. Ideally with at least 3 years PQE but we will consider all levels.

👉 Previous experience working within an in-house legal team or corporate department of a law firm.

👉 Drafting skills - you’ll be drafting and reviewing a variety of corporate documents such as share buyback agreements, subscription agreements, option agreements, board minutes, shareholder resolutions, articles of association, shareholders agreements and equity-related documents.

👉 Knowledge of corporate matters, including M&A - you’ll be supporting on M&A transactions, funding rounds and other corporate transactions.
