Role

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the legal team as maternity cover and support the business growth with a primary focus on reviewing and negotiating agreements across multiple jurisdictions and advising on matters including corporate and employment.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the Head of Legal to cover a wide range of practice areas.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements such as MSAs, work orders, statements of work, reseller agreements, data processing agreements, regulatory addenda, vendor agreements, amendment agreements, Saas agreements, NDAs and MoU across multiple jurisdictions (including UK, Ireland, Israel, Australia and US). 
  • Provide general legal support across the business. 
  • Proactively collaborate with the commercial team to support on all legal requirements related to current clients, RFPs, resellers and prospects.
  • Manage commercial contracts workflow and report to senior leadership on progress.
  • Review and negotiate vendor agreements. 
  • Manage periodic updates of current contract templates and legal playbooks. 
  • Support the product and commercial teams on the innovation of new products.
  • Collaborate with the risk and compliance team to mitigate business risks arising from company process and infrastructure and support and advise on due diligence and regulatory matters.
  • Provide and manage training and guidance to the business on legal and regulatory topics. 
  • Contribute to internal policies, compliance frameworks and governance structures. 
  • Manage portfolio of ongoing patent applications and advise the business on IP matters.
  • Support corporate and company secretarial matters.
  • Provide legal support and advice to the HR team and assist with drafting of policies.
  • Provide advice on data protection and other regulatory matters, when required
  • Research legislation applicable to the business, when required
  • Help with the improvement and implementation of legal processes
  • Support other business stakeholders and build strong working relationships across departments such as the compliance, risk, finance, tech, and product teams.

Requirements
  • Practising UK Solicitor with 6+ years PQE in a law firm or as an in-house counsel, preferably in the tech sector. 
  • Preferably in-house experience within a high-growth startup / scale-up. 
  • Experienced in drafting and negotiating high-value commercial/technology contracts.
  • Experienced in data privacy law.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience working with financial institutions is a plus.
