Job Description
Depop is looking for an expert Senior iOS Software Engineer to join us permanently. Within this role, you’ll be working in the Customer Experience (CX) product engineering team developing the services used for interaction between our customers, Depop agents, and Depop.
As a senior-level iOS engineer at Depop you’ll add new functionality as well as improve existing features through data driven A/B testing workflow and experiments. You will be working in Swift, alongside backend, other iOS engineers, using our CI pipeline with unit and integration testing built in, to iterate our native iOS application to help our millions of users to fall into the pit of success. Our small multidisciplinary product teams are supported by a much wider community of Depop iOS developers, insights teams, product managers and platform engineers. You’ll report to an engineering manager who is a member of your delivery team - their goal is to ensure you are set for career growth, engagement, and support.
We’re open for this role to be based remotely from anywhere in the UK, or on a hybrid basis within our London HQ!
Responsibilities
Produce high-quality code that is well-structured and simple to understand that will be used by 1M+ active daily users
Work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Product Designers, and various Engineers to understand problems, design solutions, and ensure that new features are implemented efficiently and optimally.
Take ownership of product development, from feature discovery, to the breakdown of work, and its implementation
Support the team to deliver weekly features/upgrades.
Exercise technical leadership on the features you and your team ship to the iOS app. Take ownership in monitoring and resolving issues.
Support the A/B testing workflow and collaborate with the insights team to ensure high quality.
Refactor existing code to use the latest developments in the iOS framework.
Requirements
Commercial experience using Swift or Objective-C, with real exposure to different platforms and OS versions.
Experience working within a Mobile Continuous Integration framework.
Experience with Unit (XCTest) and Integration Testing.
Experience in consuming a RESTful API.
Prior experience mentoring your engineering peers.
A product approach; you enjoy stepping into the shoes of your customers to understand their needs, and use data to drive your decision making.
Desirable:
Experience with the VIPER architecture.
Experience with A/B testing and solving complex experiments.
