What will you be doing?

Senior Internal Auditor
Dorking or Basingstoke
Hybrid working approach – expectation of 2 days per week in office

What will you bring?

As a Senior Internal Auditor, it is essential to have strong Internal Audit experience to perform complex audit activities across business areas within Unum. This role requires excellent relationship management with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to influence senior stakeholders. At this level, individuals contribute to audit objectives using audit and business experience, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking, decision making, and professional judgment. 

In this role you will:

  • Be able to communicate and present information to stakeholders with the ability to navigate complex conversations.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team with minimal direction from management.
  • Support your team in planning, organizing, researching best practices, and completing the steps of the internal audit lifecycle to assess whether risks are being managed.
  • Design and complete testing to evaluate the strength and effectiveness of processes/controls using a risk-based approach.
  • Utilise data to provide comprehensive insights with a forward-looking approach to reduce risk. 
  • Act as a mentor/coach to develop, challenge, empower, and share knowledge with team members.
  • Leverage and continuously improve audit knowledge and application of audit principles, practices, frameworks, and methodology.
  • Utilise audit management software, data analysis and visualization tools and productivity software.

The Senior Internal Auditor will have the ability to adapt to change and operate with a continuous improvement mindset. You will have an excellent attention to detail and be able to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience within financial services and have strong knowledge of audit principles and practices.
