Job title:             Senior Infrastructure Engineer  

Contract:           Permanent    

Summary  

Define and build modern and secure IT infrastructure services.  

Designing, implementing, securing and managing IT services within an in-house IT Infrastructure Engineering team.  Working closely with our Information Security and Support Teams to create services that are secure, consistent, reliable and supportable.   

Working with the latest infrastructure. This includes a heavy focus on Microsoft technologies, with extensive exposure to Microsoft Azure IaaS, Windows365, Entra ID/Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Office 365 etc. Network infra is also within this team including LANs, WANs, WiFi, firewalls and cloud connectivity. With responsibility for a broad collection of technologies and the ideal candidate would be comfortable working across multiple disciplines.  

Responsibilities include: -  

  • Contributing to Infrastructure Service Design  
  • Hands on implementation of new infrastructure and end user computing services  
  • Creation of documentation and service support processes  
  • Creation and implementation of technical and procedural cybersecurity controls  
  • Creation and maintenance of automation to ensure consistent repeatable implementation of M365 and Azure resources. 
  • Process automation  
  • Coaching the more live running and support teams on the use and administration of new services  
  • 3rd line support for incidents, problems and changes  

Required skills: -  

  • Strong TCP/IP networking, subnetting and routing  
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell or Python)  
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills 
  • Ability to produce well written documentation  
  • Awareness of cybersecurity best practices to reduce risk  
  • Experience of deployment of and migration to Microsoft 365  
  • Strong experience configuring and managing AD, Entra ID & Conditional Access  
  • Proven Deployment and management of cloud infrastructure (IaaS)  
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)  

Desired skills: -  

  • Firewall policy management  
  • Experience configuring and managing Exchange Server or Exchange Online  
  • Experience configuring and managing Microsoft Teams, SharePoint & OneDrive policies  
  • Experience working on desktop build and deployment automation projects (Windows 365 and AVD) 
  • Working knowledge of any of the well-known Windows and Linux server deployment and configuration management systems (e.g Ansible, puppet)
