As the Senior HR Advisor, you will provide expert HR advice and support across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring consistent, practical and commercially aligned people decisions. This role combines broad HR advisory support with hands-on delivery, including first-line ER and case management activity, alongside acting as a senior point of expertise within Shared Services. The role also drives continuous improvement across processes, service delivery, and HR systems (HRIS).

Some of the great things you’ll be doing: 

  • Provide expert HR advice across the employee lifecycle within defined SLAs and KPIs 

  • Deliver first-line ER and case management support, managing a personal caseload and supporting service demand within defined SLAs and KPIs

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex or sensitive queries from HR Advisors and managers

  • Take ownership of complex people matters, ensuring balanced, risk-aware and commercially pragmatic outcomes

  • Coach managers to build capability in people management and decision-making

  • Support and guide HR Advisors on case handling and best practice

  • Contribute to and support delivery of key HR processes and regular activity (e.g. performance, promotions, organisational change)

  • Drive continuous improvement in AskHR processes, policies and colleague experience

  • Lead or support UAT testing for system changes, enhancements and releases

  • Identify and recommend process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience

  • Act as a subject matter expert for HR processes within HRIS workflows

  • Partner with HRIS to ensure effective design and implementation of changes

  • Operates with autonomy across advisory and delivery responsibilities

  • Influences manager decisions and people outcomes across departments

What we’d like to see from you:

  • Strong knowledge of HR practices across the employee lifecycle

  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and application

  • Experience managing ER cases at varying complexity

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Experience supporting or leading HRIS testing or system improvements (good level)

  • Ability to balance hands-on delivery with advisory/leadership responsibilities

  • Analytical mindset with ability to identify trends and improvement opportunities

  • Strong communication, judgement and coaching capability
