Red Nucleus is hiring an experienced Graphic Designer. This is a hybrid role based out of our London, UK office.

ROLE

As a Graphic Designer, your primary role is to communicate information, ideas, and concepts though the language of graphic design. On a daily basis you develop graphics and other visual assets for digital and print-based learning solutions for our clients.


You will collaborate with a talented group of individuals with diverse skills across multiple disciplines ­­- Client Service Directors (CSDs), Account Directors (ADs)/Account Managers (AMs), Medical Directors (MDs), Senior Medical Writers (SMWs)/Medical Writers (MWs), Instructional Designers (IDs), other Graphic Designers, Programmers, Senior Medical Editors (SMEs)/Medical Editors (MEs)—and our clients to ensure that RN’s training is accurate, engaging, and meets—or exceeds—our client needs and Red Nucleus standards. On occasion, you will also collaborate with Account Managers (AMs) to support sales efforts.


RESPONSIBILITIES

A Graphic Designer's responsibilities fall within 2 core areas: Creative Development and Sales Support, with the majority of time spent on Creative Development.

Creative Development

  • Contributes to the overall creative approach to a project
  • Develops graphics, illustrations, UI elements, and other visual assets for digital, multimedia, responsive learning, and print solutions
  • Implements design principles to successfully communicate visual solutions for a variety of subject matter
  • Finds creative solutions for complex layouts and compositions
  • Maintains a consistent look and feel for all visual assets within a given project
  • Follows client provided brand guidelines when applicable
  • Does appropriate research to support all scientific design or illustration, including consulting with the internal medical writing team and appropriate online references
  • Keeps all working files and folders clean and organized as per RN standards
  • Provides properly compressed output files to development team as per RN standards
  • Regularly follows up with appropriate team members to confirm that a specific goal/task/job has been met
  • Obtains the necessary technical specifications prior to developing any assets, ie browser limitations, responsivity, screen dimensions, printer requirements, etc.
  • Follows art department production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards and processes
  • Becomes familiar with RN software engines and productivity tools
  • Enters and tracks own time and expenses in time accounting software
  • Provides PMs with educated time estimates for a given task, proposal, or client change when applicable
  • Contributes to the company/department by proactively contributing to internal initiatives and occasionally participating in peer reviews or critique sessions

Sales Support

  • Collaborates with RN AMs and team members to develop graphics, illustrations, etc. for proposals & pitches

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS/BFA in graphic design, interactive design, medical illustration or equivalent/relevant experience
  • Proficiency with
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • After Effects
    • InDesign
    • Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Adobe Acrobat
  • Willingness and ability to
    • Adhere to core design principles
    • Positively accept and implement constructive feedback from internal and external sources

Other qualification considerations

  • Digital agency experience
  • Experience with/knowledge of:
    • Adobe CC applications such as AfterEffects and XD
    • 3D
    • Photography
    • Video production/editing
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
    • Drawing fundamentals

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Your tasks and responsibilities will expand over time as you progress and gain knowledge, skills, and experience in the role.
  • Your teammates will be asked to provide semiannual feedback on your performance through Bamboo HR.
  • Your Line Manager will meet with you to discuss your goals and help guide and track your experiences along the way.
  • You should search out and participate in educational opportunities and internal initiatives as time allows.
