Join us as a Senior Governance Manager

What you’ll do
As a Senior Governance Manager, you’ll offer advice on a range of corporate governance matters up to executive committee and board level, while identifying opportunities to improve the corporate governance framework and its processes.
Alongside this, you’ll manage relationships with, provide briefings to and act as a point of contact to stakeholders for advice on corporate governance matters. You may also be required to act as a secretary to senior governance fora.
Your top priorities will include:
- Leading on the provision of governance advice on a range of board governance and legal entity management issues, including governance simplification, reports and accounts disclosures, annual general meetings, board effectiveness and director onboarding, induction and professional development
- Leading on corporate governance activities and projects that are relevant to the job, including, where appropriate, acting as a company secretary and advisor to key governance fora and senior stakeholders
- Advising key stakeholders on our Corporate Governance Policy, subsidiary governance framework and applicable regulatory requirements, including the Corporate Governance Code
- Keeping up to date with all relevant legal and regulatory developments and monitoring the Group’s governance arrangements to ensure that the best corporate governance standards and practices are upheld
The skills you’ll need
To be successful in this role, you’ll need an understanding of the company secretarial and regulatory environments, pertaining to large and complex financial services organisations. It would also be helpful if you had knowledge of our bank’s structure, its businesses and key issues facing the banking sector. You will also need to be able to manage highly confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
Furthermore, you’ll need:
- To be a collaborative team player that’s capable of building good working relationships up to an executive and board level across the bank
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, anticipate problems, react to changing priorities, challenge others and assert your views when required
- Experience of producing comprehensive and clearly structured minutes or briefings
