Dynatrace is looking for a creative and driven engineer to join our team and make a significant impact on the OpenTelemetry community and the Dynatrace platform. Your role:
- Build and maintain high-quality, scalable software using Go (Golang).
- Become a key contributor to the OpenTelemetry project, including the OpenTelemetry Collector and related ecosystem projects.
- Design, implement, and improve components that enhance our OpenTelemetry-based observability solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers at Dynatrace, as well as the wider OpenTelemetry community, to help drive our strategy.
- Think strategically about the integration of OpenTelemetry and AI within the Dynatrace platform to deliver next-generation observability.
- Work hands-on with Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies to validate and improve OpenTelemetry integrations.
- Participate in design discussions, conduct and receive thoughtful code reviews, and help create documentation, examples, and guidance for the community and our customers.
We are looking for a senior-level engineer who is not only technically proficient but also a strong collaborator and community advocate. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of deep technical skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Strong Go (Golang) experience building non-trivial systems or components.
- Practical experience with OpenTelemetry or the OpenTelemetry Collector (a strong advantage), as well as an active interest in Open Source (GitHub contributions are a plus).
- Understanding of how metrics, traces, and logs are processed in distributed systems.
- Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new AI-powered tools and developer workflows and apply them pragmatically in a production environment (e.g. LLM-based coding, testing, or troubleshooting workflows).
- Comfortable with Kubernetes and the cloud-native ecosystem.

- Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to this position, which is EUR 65,000 gross per year (based on full-time). We offer a higher salary in line with qualifications and experience.
