We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners
We help everyday runners become outstanding by building an incredible app providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon.
We’re growing extremely fast! In November 2023 we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the iPhone app of the year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built & in 2025 we were acquired by Strava!
Our ambition is huge: to become the go-to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere. We’re growing with purpose and looking for people who want to build something meaningful with lasting impact. With the recent acquisition by Strava accelerating our journey, now is a really magical time to join. 🚀
The team you’ll joinWe’re looking for a full stack engineer to join our Growth team, with a strong focus on marketing technology. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, data and marketing – building and maintaining the systems that power our acquisition, activation and retention efforts across channels.
Although Marketing Technology is a core part of this role, you’ll also spend a significant portion of your time working across full‑stack initiatives in our Growth Product Squad – building features, launching experiments, and iterating based on results.
You’ll join our cross-functional Growth squad, working closely with product, marketing and data. The team is responsible for:
Improving how new users discover, try and subscribe to Runna.
Running experiments across the funnel, from ad click through to in‑app activation and ongoing engagement.
Owning the core tools and integrations that power our marketing and lifecycle communications.
How we work
Cross‑functional, collaborative teams with shared goals.
Iterative development, continuous deployment and a strong focus on testing and observability.
High autonomy, high ownership – you’ll have real responsibility for growth outcomes and the systems that support them.
You’ll also collaborate with the wider engineering org to ensure our growth systems are robust, observable and align with our overall architecture and standards.
What you’ll be doingOwn implementation and maintenance of ad tracking SDKs and MMPs (for example TikTok, Meta, Google, AppsFlyer), including event mapping and monitoring for signal loss.
Build and maintain tracking and tag manager setups across web and app so our data is reliable, privacy‑respectful and useful for models and reporting.
Design, build, test and ship full stack features that support growth (for example landing pages, onboarding flows, referral and promo experiences).
Integrate and maintain CRM and lifecycle tooling (for example Iterable or similar), including catalogues, data feeds, deeplinks and email / in‑app templates.
Build internal tools, automations and scripts (for example in Python or Node) that connect systems, improve workflows and power pLTV, dashboards and alerting.
Collaborate closely with Growth, Marketing and Data to scope experiments and quickly ship A/B tests and campaigns that move key metrics.
Solid experience as a full stack engineer (ideally 3+ years), comfortable working across frontend and backend.
Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills and experience with modern frontend frameworks (for example React / React Native).
Hands‑on experience integrating and maintaining marketing technology such as:
Analytics and product analytics tools.
Mobile / web attribution.
Tag managers and event tracking.
CRM or lifecycle platforms (email, push, in‑app messaging).
Comfort working closely with non‑engineering partners (marketing, product, data) and translating business goals into technical solutions.
A bias towards experimentation and iteration – you care about impact and learning fast.
Strong ownership mindset: you’re happy to take a problem from idea to shipped, monitored solution.
Good understanding of event tracking, data quality and debugging issues across multiple platforms and tools.
Experience with mobile growth and attribution (for example RevenueCat, app store / play store tooling, mobile attribution providers).
Previous experience in a product‑led or consumer subscription business.
Experience with experimentation platforms and A/B testing.
Familiarity with AWS or another major cloud provider and modern CI/CD practices.
Experience working in or closely with a Growth / Marketing team.
