Roles & Responsibilities

  • Form strong business relationships with Business Systems Analysts to understand technical requirements and how they translate into application features.
  • Liaise with Solution Architects to design system solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Write high-quality source code, adopting test driven development, to develop application features.
  • Independently and proactively troubleshoot, research and resolve challenging problems.
  • Ensure all code changes are unit tested before being passed on to Code Review / QA Testing.
  • Adhere to development team’s coding standards, procedures and best practices.
  • Author technical documents / handbooks that accurately represent the application architecture.
  • Evaluate existing application architecture to identify components which may require re-coding and/or updating with the aim of reducing technical debt.
  • Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate development activities.
  • Ensure timely completion of project milestones with help from the Software Development Lead, identify scope creep, anticipate bottlenecks and escalate as appropriate.

Experience

  • Commercial experience with Angular 2+ including Angular Routing and Modules
  • Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3 & Saas or SCSS.
  • Experience with State Management libraries such as NgRx
  • Experience with Jasmine, Karma or Jest
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous requests,
  • Ability to use version control software such as GIT.
  • Working knowledge of C#, SQL Server and an understanding of Blazor (nice-to-have).
  • Experience in coaching and mentioring junior front-end developers.
  • Experience with all areas of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies and comfortable working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.

Skills

  • Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud development stack and Asure DevOps tool for work prioritisaiton, code management, continuous integration and delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written;
  • Pro-active, self-organiser who can plan detail of work to be undertaken and act to ensure it happens.
  • Keen eye for detail, ability to scrutinise, think critically, and ask the right questions.
  • Innovative mind-set with rigorous standards of quality;
  • Problem analysis – identify root cause of issues and what impact this has on the systems / data.
