About the Team:
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Internal Control (IC) and Inventory Management (IM) team is in charge of the worldwide consolidation and has also a regional responsibility overseeing UK, France, Spain and Hong Kong.
Main objectives of the team are:
- To be a key business partner across all departments and regions,
- To provide financial analysis (actual, budget / forecast) to give full visibility on performance, support strategic decision-making, suggest actions to optimise resource allocation, enhance operational efficiency and drive growth;
- To coordinate the actual, budget / forecast processes and challenge all departments / regions to achieve their annual targets;
- To ensure full stock accuracy across the business, control inventory movements, improve margin understanding and forecast;
- To implement key internal controls and procedures to maintain the integrity of business operations and perform audits to secure SMC assets and limit risks including but not limited to frauds, non-compliance with regulations, operational inefficiencies, data breaches;
- To increase finance and internal control awareness across the company.
Overview
As the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, you will report directly to the FP&A, Inventory Management, and Internal Control Director, and collaborate closely with the FP&A Manager. You will lead the Inventory Management team (2 persons), driving their efficiency and ensuring seamless integration within the finance team. This pivotal role demands a highly motivated individual ready to partner with regional finance teams and all departments across the company to shape the financial future of the organization.
Your Mission: Drive Strategic Growth and Financial Excellence
Your core responsibilities will include:
· Lead and Develop the Inventory Management Team: Mentor and guide a team of two, optimizing workflows and fostering their full integration with the finance function. Elevate team performance to new heights.
· Spearhead Global Sales Reviews: Direct comprehensive global sales reviews, delivering incisive channel analysis to guarantee the achievement of ambitious business targets. Own the monthly sales pack production and champion the continuous improvement of the forecast process.
· Orchestrate the Global Actual Process: Take ownership of enhancing the global actual process, and producing the consolidated P&L. Develop and communicate added-valued monthly reports, maintaining a board-ready finance pack. Oversee FP&A deliverables, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of analyses and reports, in close collaboration with the FP&A Manager.
· Opex/Capex Performance: Lead in-depth actual reviews and strategic discussions with departments (shared responsibility with FP&A Manager), challenging performance and ensuring accountability.
· Champion Brick & Mortar Financial Strategy: Serve as the primary finance partner for the Brick & Mortar channel, providing crucial support for business case simulations and overseeing IFRS16 journal entries.
· Optimize Inventory Management: Focus on Finished Goods and Raw Materials inventory, leading the implementation and calculation of depreciation and the meticulous review of PISE journals for both actual and forecast processes.
· Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner with HQ departments & regions to construct robust budgets (shared responsibility with FP&A Manager), challenging variances against prior year and targets. Enforce strict adherence to deadlines and ensure the integrity of reported figures.
· Conduct Year-End Landing Simulation: Proactively identify and highlight risks and opportunities for the annual closing process, providing critical insights to support closing business decisions, working closely with the FP&A Manager.
· Elevate Performance Visibility: Improve visibility on actual performance, variance analysis, and risks & opportunities, empowering leadership to make data-driven decisions.
· Pioneer Process Improvements and Cost Savings: Identify, champion, and execute process improvements and cost-saving projects, delivering tangible financial benefits.
· Actively participate to Cross-Functional Projects: Provide expert financial simulations and strategic recommendations for project implementations, ensuring successful go-lives and providing ongoing financial oversight.
· Deliver Insightful Analysis: Proactively generate value-added analyses that deepen the understanding of business performance, including ROI assessments for key projects and events.
· Strengthen Internal Control: Maintain the SMC Business Core Model and harmonize processes across regions. Identify, implement, and regularly perform key internal controls to mitigate fraud risks. Review existing procedures, identify gaps, and propose innovative or updated solutions.
· Transform Financial Systems: Play a key role in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems, ensuring data integrity, automation, and optimal performance.

Your Talent:
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in a fast-paced, consumer-focused retail environment.

Systems and Essentials
- Qualifications: Qualified CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel.
