Key deliverables & strategic responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and maintain robust financial models for forecasting revenue and P&L across the different sector business units, and other business areas as needed. Analyse business performance against key revenue and margin metrics. Identify trends and provide analysis to help understand key business drivers

  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with senior staff to understand and support their strategic objectives and targets with financial modelling and scenario planning to help them make good decisions. Act as a trusted advisor by providing financial insights, identifying risks and opportunities, and making recommendations to drive performance improvements

  • Corporate project partnering: Collaborate with delivery and sales leads to understand the portfolio of clients accounts and projects, forecast revenue based on pipeline, monitor financial performance, manage revenue recognition, and escalate issues as required

  • Sales Partnering and Pricing: Collaborate closely with sales and commercial teams to analyse pricing strategies and sales performance. Provide financial insights on pricing decisions, profitability analysis, and revenue optimisation. Support the development of sales forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals and targets. Work with cross-functional teams to provide data to help set and evaluate performance against sales targets

  • Performance Monitoring: Working closely with the Commercial Operations team, monitor and analyse key financial and operational metrics, such as revenue, expenses, margins, and profitability. Proactively identify trends, issues, and potential areas of improvement. Work with stakeholders to develop actionable plans to optimise performance

  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop accurate and achievable financial forecasts and budgets. Track actual performance against forecasts and budgets, investigate variances, and communicate insights to relevant parties

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with various departments, including operations, sales, and marketing. Partner with these teams to drive financial discipline, improve forecasting accuracy, and align financial goals with overall business objectives

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve overall efficiency. Leverage technology and data analytics tools to automate and optimise financial analysis and reporting

Role specific skills

  • Experience in Consultancy/Services are integral

  • CIMA or ACA qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience

  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail

  • Experience of business partnering, with a proven track record of building collaborative relationships and influencing decision-making

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel & google sheets

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, with a focus on driving financial performance and delivering actionable insights
