Job Description

What will you be doing ?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Management Accounting team in London on a 6 month FTC. You will be responsible for liaising closely with finance personnel and operational teams to ensure that information is recorded and presented accurately and within deadlines.

This role is very much seen as the ‘go-to’ person with respect to AuM/GNM.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, your responsibilities will include among others:

  • AuM reporting/analysis – using systems to automate the reporting of AuM across the group and to allow for agile reporting by division, individual, revenue class etc.
  • CFO Pack production – producing slides on AuM, GNM and NNM. Will include detailed analysis of outflows and correlation to markets.
  • When necessary, work with Business Intelligence to provide up-to-date AuM data to feed external communications.
  • Provide regular information on AuM cut by various views to the Corporate Affairs department, to ensure timely and accurate data is provided to the market.
  • Challenge AuM/GNM data rather than simply reporting it. Benchmark against forecast and budget and really understand what is driving variances.
  • Assist the annual Budget and quarterly Forecast processes, working closely with the FP&A team. Will also include input into the 5 year plan.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA/CIMA

  • Demonstrable interest in financial services industry
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Minimum basic Word, advanced Excel & intermediate PowerPoint
  • Strong Interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to communicate well both written and verbally to senior audiences and an ability to work well in a team and comfortable to work individually
  • Demonstrate an ability to understand and summarise complex information in a professional and concise manner, high levels of accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to solve problems quickly

Desired:

  • Experience gained working in a management accounts team is desired
  • Experience within a financial services institution is advantageous but not essential
