Senior Financial Accountant
Amsterdam
Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the financial operations of the entities across Netherlands and as well potentially other EMEA jurisdictions for CSC, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial control, and compliance with all financial regulations. This role involves collaborating with both the onshore and Global Hub accounting team, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial insights. The successful candidate will be a skilled and experienced accountant with a high level of technical understanding and a track record of providing excellent service in the face of tight reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Ensure the accuracy of the financial results, including revenue, expenses, and Balance Sheet items for all entities.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch/local GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Reporting:
- Production of statutory accounts for all entities.
- Ensure all tax filing deadlines are adhered to for all entities.
- Ensure all other regulatory reporting is timely submitted
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee the accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain effective internal control systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other financial laws and guidelines.
- Financial Analysis:
- Support the Financial controller, Head of Finance Operations and Finance Business Partners by providing financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and profitability.
- Team Leadership:
- Collaborate and mentor the (offshore) accounting team, providing guidance and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment for the accounting team.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with other departments and teams across Finance and the Business, to support overall business objectives.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- System and Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure the financial systems are up-to-date and effectively utilized.
- Cash management
- Checking and reviewing outgoing payment (batches)
- Collaborate with treasury department to monitor, overview and optimize cash position for all entities
- Bachelors or Master degree in Finance/Accounting & Control/ Auditing
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance or Accounting or Control/Auditing
- Ideally Big 4 / Top 60 Practice trained prior to industry
- Substantial progressive accounting/finance experience, including people management experience.
- Technically astute with Dutch GAAP Statutory Reporting and IFRS
- Substantial and successful people management experience with the desire to guide and lead team members.
- Experience with SAP S4H preferable
- Experience with financial consolidation and multi-entity accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to interpret large data sets.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A flexible self-starter who can adapt to organizational changes
