Role and Responsibilities

Working for Senior Finance Director, Global Support Functions (GSF), the responsibilities of the Senior Finance Business Partner are two-fold.

Firstly, the Senior Finance Business Partner acts as the primary finance lead to a number of Global Function Heads (Executive Committee members) and their teams by providing high quality insight, financial analysis and reporting to support effective decision making.  The specific Functions to be supported by this role may include as examples: Global Finance, Finance Shared Service Centre, People (HR), Communications, and/or Business Development.  Effective business partnering requires building a deep knowledge of the Functions (both cost-wise and operationally) to enable value-add support on all strategic & financial topics, including transformation initiatives. 

As part of their partnering activities, the individual will work closely with senior stakeholders to prepare Budgets and Forecasts for Global Functions, challenging appropriately and ensuring that Budgets and savings targets are met.  The role also requires ensuring accurate month-end Functional reporting, working in conjunction with local Finance teams around the globe and effective working relationships with the FSSC (Financial Shared Service Centre).

Secondly, the role requires leadership and management of a variety of strategic areas with global reach.  These include (but are not limited to) advising on and preparing global Merit; owning all financial aspects of external contracts for supported Functions (e.g. payroll, recruitment, outsourcing, recognition); owning, leading and facilitating the global budget process for all GSFs including alignment with Commercial; the preparation, tracking and ownership of Business Cases; tracking of Functional Restructuring programmes (when applicable); engagement with 3rd party providers; and other accountabilities and projects as driven by the changing needs of the business. 

The job requires building trusted and highly credible relationships with senior stakeholders including CFO, Corporate Controller & Executive Committee members, including daily interactions, while actively engaged as a key advisor to multiple leadership teams.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will work closely with Senior Finance Director, Global Support Functions, including daily interactions.  A highly effective working relationship, and an ability to deputise when required, is a critical dynamic of the role.

In order to be successful, the role requires leadership with a global-first mindset and a natural ability to build collaborative relationships with finance and non-finance teams across the global network.

Develop strong working relationships with GSF Function Heads (and their teams) to understand the Function(s) and provide tailored day-to-day financial support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of Global Functional Budgets, supported by plans to implement, plus associated Global GSF Budget presentations for the CEO & CFO.  Partner with the GSF Function Heads in responding to financial tasks & challenges including the development of options and data-driven recommendations.

  • Track monthly global Actuals vs Budgets for assigned GSFs and ensure accuracy of reporting. 

  • Develop strong working relationships with GSF Function Heads (and their teams) to understand the Function(s) and provide tailored day-to-day financial support.

  • Lead the preparation of Global Functional Budgets, supported by plans to implement, plus associated Global GSF Budget presentations for the CEO & CFO.  Partner with the GSF Function Heads in responding to financial tasks & challenges including the development of options and data-driven recommendations.

  • Track monthly global Actuals vs Budgets for assigned GSFs and ensure accuracy of reporting. 

  • Act as a senior, valued leader within Functional leadership teams, offering direction, ownership and counsel on the management of business transformations, financial strategy and key initiatives – including those requiring Executive Committee (ExCo) review and approval.

  • Demonstrate agility to work independently and deliver value across a broad spectrum of business initiatives, while navigating complex organizational dynamics and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Drive cross-functional collaboration, proactively challenging assumptions and providing expert-level insight to ensure the successful delivery of non-recurring projects.

  • Act as the primary deputy to the team leader whenever required.  Serve as the trusted 'right hand' providing seamless continuity across all areas.  Help to ensure that the team's objectives are met, priorities are managed, and any critical issues are addressed.

  • Play an active role in the financial management of Mundipharma International Limited (MINT).  Work effectively with the Finance Controller and external auditors and help to address complex audit queries with a solutions-oriented approach.  Drive innovation by developing and implementing advanced methodologies to track, communicate and facilitate global MINT recharges, establishing new best practices that enhance efficiency and align with organizational goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified Finance professional (ACA, ACCA)

  • Technical accounting acumen & experience

  • Min. 5 years PQE

  • Relevant experience/role working in a global corporate environment
