Role Overview:
As a key member of Depop’s Strategic Finance team, you'll report to the Head of Strategic Finance and work closely with a dynamic team. You’ll drive financial planning, forecasting, and analysis, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with business goals. Your focus will be on budgeting, performance analysis, and strengthening cross-functional collaboration to support Depop’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial strategic planning processes.

Develop financial models, including profitability analysis, long-term modelling and scenario planning.

Establish a strong investment governance framework to guide company-wide decisions.
Business Partnering:

Serve as a strategic finance partner to the engineering leadership team, providing insightful financial analysis to support both operational and strategic decisions.

Act as the primary contact within the finance team for financial queries, aligning planning with business objectives.
Performance Management & Communication:

Oversee Depop's margin performance, ensuring that KPIs are defined and tracked in alignment with cross-functional business goals.

Conduct variance analysis, recommending corrective actions when necessary.

Prepare impactful communication materials that help the company balance short-term performance goals with long-term ambitions.
Financial Analysis, Forecasting & Investment Strategy:

Deliver comprehensive financial analysis, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities to senior management.

Lead forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business teams.

Update and maintain financial models for planning and forecasting.
Projects & Initiatives:

Contribute to FP&A transformation projects to enhance reporting capabilities.

Benchmark financial metrics and track industry standards to ensure competitiveness.
Requirements:
-
CIMA/ACA qualified
-
Experience in FP&A or Strategic Finance, ideally within an e-commerce, marketplace, or scale-up environment.

Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and business partnering.

Ability to design complex models that inform strategic decision-making.

Ability to develop and implement financial strategies

Highly analytical with strong data interpretation skills and proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Looker, SQL).

Ability to work cross-functionally across a broad range of stakeholders, including senior executives.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present financial insights clearly and influence decisions

Strong problem-solving skills

Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously

Familiarity with financial software, business intelligence tools, and ERP systems (e.g., Planful, Looker, SQL is a bonus).
