Senior Finance Analyst – Accounting Operations
We have an exciting opportunity within our Finance team as a Senior Finance Analyst (Accounting Operations) on a fixed term basis for 18 months, based in our Darlington office (hybrid working).

The role
The core purpose of the role is to support the production of Accounting Operations and Tax activities with a specific focus on defined process streams. The person will be accountable for operational tasks including balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close processes including journal review and approval, Scheme accounting and Client reporting. As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will look to identify areas of improvement across the processes and systems you directly work with including where other stakeholders interact with those processes.

The person
We are looking for someone with demonstrable knowledge and experience within Management Accounting. You will have experience in accurately preparing balance sheet reconciliations within the agreed timescales. The ability to take ownership for processing of daily/monthly procedures and journals, ensuring deadlines are accurately met is key. You will be proficient in Microsoft Excel to enable you to effectively produce relevant analysis to help support the role. The ideal candidate will be studying towards an accountancy qualification and have good understanding of working with accounting operations such reporting and month end processes.
Key to delivery in this role will be close collaboration with teams within Finance. You will be organised in your approach, demonstrating strong time management skills to ensure delivery to agreed timescales. Analytical skills are essential to allow you to effectively identify and resolve potential discrepancies discovered as part of the transformation journey. We will expect you to share your ideas with the team but also have passion for learning new ways of working.
