About the role

The Channel Company is an award-winning B2B media and events business serving the technology market. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and commercially aware Senior Event Coordinator to join the Events team. The role focuses on the end-to-end operational delivery of high-quality dinners, conferences and awards ceremonies ranging from 20 to 1,000+ attendees, across in-person, hybrid and virtual formats.

The role supports flagship UK brands including Computing and CRN UK, which sit at the centre of the technology and channel communities. Events delivered under these brands bring together senior IT leaders, vendors, partners and solution providers through market-leading conferences, awards ceremonies and executive-level experiences.

Working at the heart of the Events team, the Senior Event Coordinator will own logistics, budgets and supplier management for a portfolio of events, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Editorial, Production, Customer Success and external partners to ensure events are delivered on time, on budget and to specification.

What we expect from an ideal candidate

- Own the professional and timely delivery of a portfolio of events from initial briefing through to on-site delivery and post-event reconciliation.

- Deliver a range of formats including executive dinners, conferences and large-scale awards ceremonies.

- Manage multiple events concurrently, often at different stages of delivery.

- Build, manage and track event budgets, ensuring strong cost control and accurate reconciliation.

- Act as the main operational point of contact for venues, AV, production partners and other suppliers.

- Source and negotiate venues and suppliers to achieve best value while maintaining quality.

- Work closely with Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure sponsor deliverables are understood and delivered.

- Collaborate effectively with Marketing, Editorial, Design and Production teams to ensure alignment across all event elements.

- Lead on-site delivery, including build, rehearsals, live show management and breakdown.

- Be available and willing to travel within the UK and internationally, and to work flexibly around live event delivery requirements.

- Remain calm, solutions-focused and decisive in high-pressure, live environments.

- Support junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of event processes and best practice.

- Champion sustainable practices and consider environmental impact throughout event planning and delivery.

What we value

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience delivering B2B events in an agency, media or in-house environment, with proven experience managing medium to large-scale events including conferences and/or awards ceremonies.

Key competencies include:

- Excellent time management and organisational skills.

- Strong numerical skills with proven budget management experience.

- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively as part of a team.

- Confidence operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

- Experience with event registration and project management platforms (e.g. Evessio, Monday.com or similar) is desirable.
