About your team: 

You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.

We are looking for a Senior ETRM Business Analyst, who has a deep understanding of Gas, Power, LNG, and Emissions markets and possess strong analytical skills to drive business solutions and strategies.

 

How we work:

We embrace ‘flexible first’ as our guiding principle for flexible and hybrid working, which balances work, the team, and the individual need for flexibility. This role is based out of our London office, close to Marble Arch, with the team typically coming in 3 days per week. There will also be an occasional requirement to travel to our Denmark offices (Aalborg and Copenhagen).

 

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Gas, Power, LNG and Emissions markets that helps enable Front office to onboard new products and expand into new markets/locations

  • Articulate technology-based solutions, present in new business situations and workshops, and sometimes navigate complex situations

  • Be the first point of contact to identify, manage and resolve requirement questions, dependencies, issues, and risks with the onshore and offshore team and business

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Prioritise competing demands and obtain buy-in from stakeholders

  • Delivery of complex business and technology solutions, from solution design to end-to-end system implementation, in the ETRM space

  • Have knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards and ensure all ETRM solutions comply to the standards

  • Develop and implement methodologies that maximize the flow of value and are deeply rooted in Agile, Lean, and continuous delivery principles

  • Develop and implement procedures to improve communication, team engagement, and coordination around incident management and to reduce the business impact.

 

The Person:

  • Understanding of end-to-end processes in the physical commodity, trading, or similar (financial services, investment banking) industry

  • Strong understanding of OpenLink Endur platform and hands on knowledge of all Endur modules

  • Strong knowledge of all business functions like Trading, Market/Credit Risk, Trade Control, Trade Operations, Settlements and Accounting

  • Ability to troubleshoot, support and maintain Endur instance

  • Good database development knowledge either using Oracle PL/SQL

  • Knowledge of DMS and Crystal Report

  • Good analytical skills - able to investigate, analyse and troubleshoot tasks

  • Capacity to work autonomously and to communicate with the different stakeholders of the project

  • Able to perform various phases of SDLC where essential – analysis, code reviews, testing, documentation, implementation and release management. Along with any troubleshooting /investigation / support task

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast moving trading environment to help the ETRM landscape get ahead of industry benchmarks.
