HiveMQ’s Vision for this role

We are looking for an experienced Manager to run the Cloud Applications team. This team builds and operates key services that are necessary to operate our managed platform spanning areas like billing, payments, user signup and auth, customer console, API-s, backoffice and many others.

You will…

  • Lead and grow a team of passionate engineers through career development, coaching and mentoring. Provide support and guidance that enables the team to self-organize and to achieve sustained high product velocity.
  • Own product and value delivery for your team in collaboration with product manager and product marketing manager.
  • Collaborate on team objectives, goals and roadmap with product and engineering leadership, product managers and architects to ensure the team has clear direction and priorities.
  • Break down roadblocks as well as manage communications with stakeholders and other teams. Create a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection.
  • Help define and own team metrics, KPIs alongside the data and means to measure them.
  • Drive quality accountability within the organization with well-defined processes and rituals. This includes leading effective postmortems and ensuring actions are followed-up.
  • Contribute to the overall cloud platform, technical and engineering strategy and direction of HiveMQ.
  • Live a culture of teamwork, quality, growth and bias for action.

You have…

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing product teams in technology companies.
  • Product delivery and operations experience in SaaS (Software as a Service) or  PaaS (Platform as a Service) industries.
  • A good understanding of how agile software development using Kanban in a self-organized team works.
  • Experience operating services in any of the large cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and concepts like continuous integration, continuous delivery and DevOps, prior background as an engineer. 
  • Exposure to modern web technologies and engineering client and server side systems at scale.
  • A belief in a servant leadership mentality, but also the ability to lead from the front when needed.
