Core responsibilities:
- Attract, onboard, and retain a diverse group of software engineers who are passionate about making a difference
- Partner with product managers and designers to provide technical leadership, ensuring the timely delivery of impactful technical solutions that drive our digital solutions forward
- Foster a collaborative environment for the product teams your engineers are part of, enabling them to release their potential
- Work alongside fellow engineering managers and lead engineers to establish and promote top-tier engineering practices and architecture across the organization, setting the standard for quality and innovation
- Be an active contributor to the engineering leadership team in your area, embodying the LEGO Group's principles and ways of working, and serving as a role model for excellence and collaboration
Play your part in our team succeeding
In Creator and AFOL Technology, we are dedicated to developing and operating applications that empower our LEGO® design colleagues to innovate and create novel elements and LEGO® products. In this role, you will be leading a group of engineers working on our pipelines and authoring tools for the digital version of our iconic LEGO® bricks. Those digital bricks are used throughout the design process for new products and sets as well as in our digital experiences, games, and marketing.
Do you have what it takes?
- Proven experience from a digital engineering position
- Understanding of agile methodologies and experience working with or on agile development teams
- Great communication, leadership, and coaching skills — you enjoy helping others thrive
- Solid stakeholder management competencies
- Delivery-focused and comfortable navigating change and ambiguity
Bonus skills:
- Experience working as a people or team lead in the digital space is a plus - but this could also be a great first step into formal leadership for someone with strong mentoring or informal leadership experience
- Value efficient and agile product implementation over process-heavy project execution
- Understanding of security aspects of web-based solutions
- Experience with at least one modern, object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#)
- Experience working with cloud platforms
- Familiarity with concepts like continuous delivery, DevOps, serverless architecture, or domain-driven design
