Job Description

Ready to lead talented engineers and shape the digital tools behind the LEGO® brick?

This is a unique opportunity to grow as a people leader, create clarity in an evolving space, and help develop the digital building blocks used by LEGO® designers every day. Whether you are an experienced leader or stepping into leadership for the first time, this role offers support, impact, and the chance to work close to the core of LEGO® product creation.

Core responsibilities:

  • Attract, onboard, and retain a diverse group of software engineers who are passionate about making a difference
  • Partner with product managers and designers to provide technical leadership, ensuring the timely delivery of impactful technical solutions that drive our digital solutions forward
  • Foster a collaborative environment for the product teams your engineers are part of, enabling them to release their potential
  • Work alongside fellow engineering managers and lead engineers to establish and promote top-tier engineering practices and architecture across the organization, setting the standard for quality and innovation
  • Be an active contributor to the engineering leadership team in your area, embodying the LEGO Group's principles and ways of working, and serving as a role model for excellence and collaboration

Play your part in our team succeeding

In Creator and AFOL Technology, we are dedicated to developing and operating applications that empower our LEGO® design colleagues to innovate and create novel elements and LEGO® products. In this role, you will be leading a group of engineers working on our pipelines and authoring tools for the digital version of our iconic LEGO® bricks. Those digital bricks are used throughout the design process for new products and sets as well as in our digital experiences, games, and marketing.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proven experience from a digital engineering position
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and experience working with or on agile development teams
  • Great communication, leadership, and coaching skills — you enjoy helping others thrive
  • Solid stakeholder management competencies
  • Delivery-focused and comfortable navigating change and ambiguity

Bonus skills:

  • Experience working as a people or team lead in the digital space is a plus - but this could also be a great first step into formal leadership for someone with strong mentoring or informal leadership experience
  • Value efficient and agile product implementation over process-heavy project execution
  • Understanding of security aspects of web-based solutions
  • Experience with at least one modern, object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#)
  • Experience working with cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with concepts like continuous delivery, DevOps, serverless architecture, or domain-driven design

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
