Job Description

Ready to shape the future of play? 

As part of the Play Experience team, you will be a central part of the Play Engineering organization as we drive to bring advanced technology in-house, working across all technical teams, while always focusing on the experience of LEGO fans of all ages. 

Responsibilities 

  • Build, maintainand optimize Play Experiences through software components. 

  • Lead the software team from a technical standpoint through code reviews, support and mentoring, enforcing best practices and collaboration, and improving team efficiency. 

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering Leads and System Architects from the Software and Firmware domains to ensure your work is optimized and efficient on physical platforms.  

  • Improve performance and resources usage within a constrained system. 

  • Deliver, with the help of the team, new experiences in a timely manner for all LEGO fans all around the world. 

  • Help improve processes and workflows. 

 

Requirements 

  • Strong experience in technical leadership of software engineering teams.  

  • Experience in designing and building software platforms, components, or core engines akin to game engines in the video game industry.  

  • Skilled in the following programming languages: C++, C, Python. 

  • Experience with Domain Specific Languages (DSL). 

  • Demonstrable ability to work on engineering projects within a team. 

  • Self organizer with a growth mindset. 

  • Focus on the user experience within technical constraints. 

 

Nice to have 

  • Experience using GitHub for code management. 

  • Experience using Jira for task management. 

  • Experience with embedded system.
