Job Description

  

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Electronics Engineer has arisen within the RF Power division based in Chelmsford.  You will be working on RF Power Solutions Projects (See website for more information).  These projects encompass both customer facing projects and internal R&D projects.

What will you be doing:

  • Hardware design of new RF system products – from feasibility to production
  • Lifecycle management and enhancements of existing products
  • Schematic design using Altium/Cadstar
  • PCB layout design, definition, and review
  • Support the product development life cycle - specifications, design hardware, prototyping, functional testing, & validation.
  • Work with a team of multi-disciplined engineers to deliver programmes of work which meet its requirements.
  • Ensuring products meet health and safety regulations and adhere to industry standards.

You will have:

A strong background in Electronic Hardware design for products

  • 10yrs experience in product-based design, development & qualification
  • Experience of analogue circuit design (switching PSUs & signal conditioning)
  • Experience of digital circuit design (0.5GHz bus speeds)
  • Experience of using schematic capture tools to capture the design (Altium/Cadstar).
  • Experience of designing, managing and realising the layout of multilayer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) with Altium/Cadstar.
  • Knowledge of how to produce hardware for FPGAs and DSPs.
  • Significant experience of testing and fault-finding electronics products including PCBs
  • Experience in design for Reliability (MTBF) in electronic systems.
  • Experience in analysis of design failure mechanisms using DFMEA/FMECA.
  • Knowledge of the requirements in product standards and experience of attaining regulatory qualification for products.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or higher in Electronic Engineering, IEng, CEng, or an equivalent level of experience together with further education in applicable subjects will be considered.

Security Clearance:

  • Holding or eligible for Security Clearance and a UK National
