  • Define and execute Europe’s automation and Plant of the Future roadmap, translating strategy into a deliverable portfolio of programmes.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of capital and automation projects, from business cases through installation, startup and handover.
  • Drive equipment reliability, MTBF and maintenance effectiveness, embedding standard practices and performance metrics across the network.
  • Champion a Zero Harm culture, ensuring all engineering and automation initiatives meet the highest safety and compliance standards.
  • Build technical capability through upskilling, talent development and apprenticeship programmes.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, IT, Quality and Health & Safety leaders to deliver productivity and cost out initiatives.
  • Lead key relationships with automation suppliers and engineering service providers, while supporting global standardisation efforts.

What You’ll Bring

  • Senior leadership experience in Process Engineering, Automation or Technical Operations in industrial, manufacturing or supply chain environments.

  • Proven delivery of largescale automation and capital programmes across multisite networks.

  • Strong background in reliability engineering and operational performance improvement.

  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders in matrixed, international organisations.

  • Commercial, pragmatic mindset with strong capital governance and financial discipline.

  • Clear communicator, change-ready leader and visible champion of Zero Harm.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Structural or related Engineering discipline.

  • Desirable: MBA or equivalent experience; Lean / Six Sigma certification.

  • Languages: English essential; additional European language desirable.

  • Certified Top 17 Global Employer

  • Competitive senior leadership reward package (base, bonus and long-term incentives)

  • Significant capital ownership and executive exposure

  • Strong focus on wellbeing, development and long-term career progression

  • The opportunity to leave a real engineering and automation legacy across CHEP Europe
