Work Location: This role is remote for candidates based in UK only.
Work Arrangement: The SR Director will have to travel to London/Derby 1-2 times per month.

Job Description

The Sr Director - Brand Strategy will lead the development and execution of innovative brand and talent marketing solutions that drive hiring outcomes, enhance employer brand value, and optimize talent performance for clients. This role is a key leadership position within the organization, responsible for building senior-level client relationships, managing a significant portfolio, and delivering revenue growth through progressive, impactful brand strategies.

You will leverage deep expertise in employer branding, recruitment marketing, and employee communications to drive excellence in service delivery and ensure client satisfaction. This commercially oriented, global role requires a proven ability to achieve revenue targets, create new opportunities, and lead a high-performing team, all while maintaining operational excellence and contributing to the organization’s thought leadership and reputation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Client Engagement and Strategy Development

  • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships to understand business challenges and deliver customized employer brand and talent marketing strategies.
  • Consult with client leaders, providing strategic insights, thought leadership, and best practices to address their unique needs.
  • Develop and execute brand strategies that generate measurable ROI, improve the quality of hire, and ignite talent performance.
  • Lead scoping and delivery of high-value brand projects (up to $250K each) while maintaining accountability for commercial, service, and reputational excellence.

Revenue Growth and Business Development

  • Own and manage a client portfolio valued at approximately £4M+, identifying opportunities to expand services and increase revenue.
  • Partner with sales and account teams to convert new opportunities
  • Lead the creation of compelling services, products, and IP to enhance Cielo’s portfolio of employer brand solutions.

Thought Leadership and Innovation

  • Act as a visible leader and expert in employer branding, representing Cielo through speaking engagements, summits, and published thought leadership.
  • Provide insights and strategic recommendations by transforming marketing data into powerful stories.
  • Champion innovative approaches to recruitment marketing, digital solutions, and employer brand strategies, ensuring continuous improvement and best practices.

Operational Excellence and Team Leadership

  • Ensure operational excellence within the Brand Practice by standardizing delivery models, optimizing processes, and embedding governance standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Brand & Digital Consultants, Campaign Managers, and Senior Consultants to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Support regional leaders to align service delivery with business objectives and maintain sustainable operating models.
  • Oversee P&L management, including forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring financial performance targets are met.

Service Delivery and Governance

  • Maintain accountability for service delivery standards, ensuring consistent quality across client portfolios.
  • Deliver strategic evaluations such as digital audits and provide actionable recommendations to clients for brand improvements.
  • Manage the integration of brand solutions with recruitment marketing and communications programs for seamless delivery.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
  • Relevant marketing and digital vocational training.

Experience

  • Extensive experience delivering employer brand, recruitment marketing, and employee communications programs.
  • Agency, outsourcing, or consulting experience preferred.
  • Proven success in managing client relationships, service delivery, and P&L responsibilities.
  • Expertise in leveraging data to generate insights and develop strategic marketing recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to launch and operationalize innovative services or products.

  • Commercially savvy with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver measurable outcomes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Sr. Director, Brand Strategy will lead a high-performing team, including Managers, Brand & Digital, Brand & Digital Consultants, and Campaign Managers. This includes providing strategic direction, conducting performance reviews, and supporting professional growth across the team.
