Senior Digital Designer

Salary: £48,000 per annum, plus company benefits

Location: London City

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am until 5:30pm with 1 hours unpaid lunch break

Williams Lea seeks a Senior Digital Designer to join our team!

Purpose of role 

As a key member of the in-house Creative Team, the Senior Digital Designer will lead the creation of visually compelling and effective digital content that enhances user experience and aligns with strategic business objectives. This role demands a highly skilled designer who can translate conceptual ideas into high-quality deliverables while maintaining brand integrity. As a brand guardian, the Senior Digital Designer alongside the Creative Director will set standards for design excellence, mentor junior designers, and drive innovation across digital channels. A collaborative mindset and leadership qualities are essential.
 

  

Key responsibilities 

  • Lead and oversee digital design projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with business and marketing strategies.
  • Define and maintain brand standards across all digital touchpoints, ensuring consistency and high-quality outputs.
  • Provide strategic input into design approaches, leveraging industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Own and refine digital design templates, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Review and interpret briefs from stakeholders, offering expert guidance on the best creative approach within brand guidelines.
  • Manage and execute design and motion projects, from initial creative concepts through to final production.
  • Mentor and support junior designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering professional growth.
  • Advocate for user-centred design, ensuring all creative outputs enhance engagement and usability.
  • Ensure all projects meet quality standards, conducting thorough pre-flight checks and reviews.
  • Stay ahead of industry developments, bringing fresh ideas and innovative techniques to the team.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and clients, presenting and justifying design decisions with confidence.

Personal attributes

  • Substantial and relevant experience in a creative agency or in-house creative team, with a strong portfolio demonstrating impactful digital design.
  • Expert knowledge of branding, with the ability to craft compelling visual narratives across digital and offline channels.
  • Advanced skills in motion design, animation, and Adobe After Effects.
  • Extensive experience with social media campaigns, designing for various platforms and formats.
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS, with a solid understanding of front-end capabilities and limitations.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and interactive PDF creation is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of CMS platforms and digital content delivery best practices.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding junior designers.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Microsoft Office, and a willingness to adapt to new tools.
  • Strategic thinker, able to anticipate and respond to client needs with innovative solutions.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable presenting ideas and justifying design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring a high standard of quality across all outputs.
