The opportunity:

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer to join a growing, award-winning, creative team with big ambitions. You’ll work across everything from print, digital and experiential, but will also be expected to lead projects, drive innovation, build lasting client relationships and champion operational excellence. The Senior Designer will report to the Design Director and will manage or mentor at least one direct report, but we’ll want your impact felt across the team.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external resources to deliver innovative solutions that push the boundaries of healthcare design. You are responsible for driving the vision of your allocated brands, delivering an industry-leading design product each and every time, and fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement.


About you:

We’re looking for someone who loves design, someone who notices the little things in life, the weird, the quirky, someone with a relentless passion for “what good looks like”. You have natural instinct and flair for making the ordinary look extraordinary, you’ll be a master of your craft, one who can bring a different perspective to each challenge and (like us) won’t settle until it’s right. You’re a natural collaborator and facilitator, able to run workshops and co-creation sessions, and to mentor and upskill junior and midweight designers.

You’re going to be a figurehead in the team, and others will look to you for guidance and opinion, so you’ll need to be diplomatic and brave; you’ll instinctively know when to listen and when to speak up. You won’t be afraid to say you don’t know, but you will then go and figure it out. You are committed to ownership and accountability, always ensuring alignment and progress at every stage. You keep up with digital and healthcare trends and proactively share your knowledge. You bring a mindset for continuous improvement, process optimisation and knowledge sharing. You are not only a creative leader, but also a role model for design ethics and best practice.


What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in a senior-level design role, ideally in a healthcare/pharma or other highly regulated environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability for projects: Leading from start to finish, proactively managing progress, flagging and communicating issues early
  • Experience running or co-leading workshops, design sprints, or ideation sessions
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with a strong portfolio of integrated 360º campaigns (advertising, branding, digital, experiential, moving image, print)
  • Experience working with or maintaining design systems, component libraries and shared resources
  • A passion for accessibility and compliance, with working knowledge of WCAG/ADA or related standards
  • Proven skills in delegation and prioritisation: Balancing exploration/innovation with right-first-time delivery, and focusing your energy where it adds the most value
  • Strong presentation skills—confident in presenting to senior clients, rationalising decisions and defending creative approaches
  • A collaborative, diplomatic and process-driven mindset—able to work with strategy, copy, dev, PMs and science/medical writers
  • Ability to provide clear creative direction and timely feedback; a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to critical feedback
  • Empathy and team support: Skilled at managing your own and others’ stress, recognising team needs, and fostering a positive, collaborative culture
  • Strong time management, prioritisation and delegation skills
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement—always seeking ways to raise the bar for the team and agency
  • Strong attention to detail/consistency of design
  • Commitment to continuous improvement: Open to feedback and actively seeks out opportunities to optimise processes and contribute to agency best practices
  • Confidence in challenging and improving briefs and workflows: Not afraid to question the status quo and suggest better ways of working

 

What we’ll need you to do:

  • Own projects end-to-end: From initial briefing to final delivery, ensuring client needs and timelines are met, and proactively resolving challenges
  • Interrogate and refine briefs: Ask questions, clarify ambiguities and ensure every project is set up for success before creative work begins
  • Translate brand strategies and insights into visually stunning and innovative ideas
  • Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audiences, and connect design decisions to business and user needs
  • Ensure a high standard of visual execution and accessibility across all media and campaigns
  • Generate original ideas and visual concepts that are on brand, future-facing and compliant with healthcare/pharma regulations
  • Collaborate across disciplines (art directors, copywriters, motion, dev, medical/scientific, PMs) to deliver integrated 360º campaigns
  • Champion and contribute to agency design systems, libraries and workflow improvements
  • Mentor, onboard and upskill junior/midweight designers: Provide structured feedback, run crit sessions and support professional growth
  • Promote a culture of regular check-ins and collaborative dialogue
  • Facilitate structured feedback and critique sessions: Lead design crits, summarise feedback for clarity and ensure actionable next steps for the team
  • Lead by example in time management and delegation: Prioritise high-impact tasks, delegate executional work to others and ensure effective use of team resources
  • Support the well-being and growth of the team: Show empathy, help manage stress and create a supportive and positive environment for all team members
  • Apply accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) and compliance best practices to all work
  • Contribute to award submissions, case studies, and agency thought leadership (blogging, public speaking, industry events)
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through completion, balancing priorities and timelines.
  • Be passionate about contributing to and building a positive agency culture
  • Be confident and articulate to share ideas internally and externally as part of a wider project team
