Senior Designer (Zero Hours Contract)

Hourly rate: £37.50 per hour + Holiday Pay

Location: London

Contract: Zero Hours

Shifts: Evening Shift – 4pm – 12am

Duration – 6 months

Work model: Fully onsite

Williams Lea seeks a Senior Designer to join our relief team!

Williams Lea is the leading global provider of skilled, technology-enabled, business-critical support services, with long-term trusted relationships with blue-chip clients across investment banks, law firms and professional services firms. Williams Lea employees, nearly 7000 people worldwide, who provide efficient business services at client sites in often complex and highly regulated environments, from centralised Williams Lea onshore facilities, and through best cost company offshore locations.

Purpose of role:   

Our relief team offers a flexible solution to Williams Lea, often working on critical projects on client sites. As a Senior Designer within our relief team, you will be working various shifts covering holidays and sickness to ensure our services are fully staffed across multiple office locations in the United Kingdom, sometimes at short notice.    

Your role will be varied depending on the needs of the individual client projects and every task which is undertaken must be delivered with an exceptional customer service approach.    

You must have an understanding and passion for taking content and representing this in an impactful and engaging way across appropriate print and digital communication channels. The key to the role is the delivery of innovative and creative content execution across media with a consistent look and feel. 

We are looking for someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude, willing to put forward ideas and have a keen eye for detail. Ensuring that all work sent out is to the highest standard and within brand guidelines. The candidate should be an extremely organised and dedicated individual with strong communications skills. 

The work is very fast moving and often requires the application of judgement. You will be required to interpret numerous client instructions and translate those requirements into ‘branded’ concepts and final designs, which work in both the digital and print spaces. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver and coordinate design projects for both print and digital, working with other team members to ensure this happens in the most effective manner
  • Able to develop compelling concepts and offer innovative design solutions within corporate design guidelines and attuned to the audience 
  • Confidence to present and explain ideas to clients and colleagues, proactively offering solutions over and above the client ask 
  • Elicit client feedback to consistently strive to deliver a fully client focused service
  • Ability to balance work on several projects at a time from scoping and briefing through to initial concepts, implementation and delivery
  • Produce creative and enhanced PowerPoint slides to an advanced level that add value to client pitches
  • Buddy new joiners post-training – be a role model for, inspire, mentor and guide other designers to raise overall team skillset
  • Responsible for quality control of own work as well as midweight and junior designers 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design desirable
  • An experienced all-round designer with a strong experience in brand design both on and offline
  • Relevant experience in a corporate, service-oriented environment
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite; Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
  • Presentations experience desirable
  • Able to work independently, prioritise accordingly, and iterate quickly
  • Experience leading a team of designers
  • A creative flair, an exceptional eye for quality and detail and an aptitude for creative thinking
  • Knowledge in design trends and technologies to share with the team
  • Knowledge of print process and techniques, managing suppliers where required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Power Point, Excel, and Word
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro would be advantageous
