Hypebeast’s EMEA Creative Team is looking for a Senior Designer to lead our brand partnerships and creative agency design work. The ideal candidate is passionate about culturally-relevant design, and has a proven track record primarily in digital design but also in print. This opportunity will enable them to work with some of the world's biggest brands and be part of a hugely influential cultural platform designing across Hypebeast and Hypemaker’s social media, .com editorial, print, and experiential work.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead design for Hypebeast branded content and Hypemaker agency projects, collaborating with other designers and creative, sales, account and production teams.
  • Develop and execute concepts and designs for projects that meet internal and external expectations.
  • Create client pitch decks that showcase campaign concepts through mockups, moodboards, and graphics
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor, provide feedback to, and delegate tasks to junior designers and/or interns.
  • Understand the aesthetic and identity of Hypebeast Media properties and how they translate to client-based design work
  • Attend meetings and presentations to present design concepts and gather feedback.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide input on design concepts.
  • Manage and track timelines when necessary 
  • Present your work with confidence and clearly explain your rationale to clients.
  • Brief and manage external freelancers on projects when necessary.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience working in a design role at a publisher, media company, agency, or similar.
  • A passion for topics in youth culture like fashion, music, art and how they influence trends in design.
  • Exceptional portfolio of work that demonstrates excellent craft of design fundamentals including typography, colour, layout and motion.
  • Conceptually innovative, detail-oriented and able to execute pixel-perfect digital design.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with creative teams and developers.
  • Experience tackling multiple projects simultaneously with internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Requirements:

  • Expert level experience and technical knowledge across digital design for formats including but not limited to: designing web and digital editorial layouts, designing digital advertisements, designing for social media, designing microsites.
  • Experience with print design as it applies to events, books and magazines, and OOH ads.
  • Experience designing presentation templates and visualising ideas through presentations via mockups, moodboards and graphics.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Keynote.
  • Solid experience using ‘no-code’ web design tools (for example: Webflow and/or Ceros.)
  • 2D animation skills (After Effects) and 3D skills are a bonus.
