Our Senior Designers play essential roles in the strategy, conception and design of beautiful ideas, products and services. They bring exceptional creative thought and craft output, developing and delivering projects from brief to end user. 

As a Senior Designer at our London AKQA Studio, you will play a pivotal role in the conception, design, and execution of impactful solutions across the entire brand experience. By thinking beyond briefs and envisioning innovative approaches that our clients may not have anticipated—or even imagined—you’ll help build AKQA’s reputation for groundbreaking and influential work.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Passionate about designing for the full brand experience — from identities to products and services.
• Believe brands are meant to move, designing with motion in mind from the start.
• Ability to translate brand thinking into ownable and systematic digital experiences.
• Collaborate with art directors, copywriters, strategists, and technologists to develop innovative and persuasive concepts.
• Embrace challenges and inspire new ways of thinking.
• Lead the development of creative ideas for new business pitches and other key agency initiatives.
• Lead by example to inspire colleagues and create pioneering ideas that deliver successful solutions.
• Client-facing experience, presenting creative work to both internal and client stakeholders; be the creative go-to on accounts you work on.
• Experience in defining, facilitating, and overseeing design processes across different work streams, from concept to final development.
• Share knowledge with AKQA teams and mentor mid/junior designers.
• Profound knowledge of Figma and design systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS

• A compelling portfolio that showcases the breadth of your conceptual thinking and design craft.
• Exceptional communication skills that enable you to articulate the ‘why’ behind your design concepts.
• A drive to break boundaries and create the best ideas of their kind in the world.
• Passionate, driven, and obsessed with your craft, always staying on top of best practices in your field.
• Natural curiosity that inspires you to find inspiration in anything and everything, with a keen eye on the future of media and technology.
• Proficiency in branding design methodologies and design thinking.
• Extensive experience with software like Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Keynote.
• A degree in Design, Interaction Design, Visual Studies, or other design-related fields preferred; an art background is a plus.
