Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Step into a role where your technical expertise shapes real outcomes. You’ll turn complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that power bank‑wide strategy. From building sophisticated calculators and models to optimising existing processes, you’ll be hands‑on with the tools and code that drive decision‑making across the WNZL portfolio.

You’ll work deeply across data domains, interpreting patterns, solving tough business problems, and designing scalable, reusable data assets that lift the bank’s capability. Alongside your technical contribution, you’ll also support and mentor other data professionals, helping them deliver high‑quality, well‑engineered solutions.

If you love using data to solve meaningful challenges and want to influence how the bank thinks, builds and innovates, this is where you’ll make your mark.

  • Demonstrated ability to confidently lead conversations with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, align expectations, and drive outcomes.

  • Experience using source control and collaborative development practices (e.g. Git).

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, translating analytical outcomes into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
