This role as a Senior Data Scientist involves creating and implementing data-driven models to enhance decision-making across digital tools, core systems, and data platforms within Integrated Operations.

Responsibilities include delivering analysis and insights to address key business challenges, improving decision quality, and supporting the business plan.

The position requires a structured approach to complex issues, developing mathematical models and data products to evaluate scenarios, and using analytics techniques, such as statistics, data mining, and operational research, to deepen understanding of the business and provide continuous decision support.

The impact you'll make:

• Develops quantitative models and data products to solve critical business issues using predictive and prescriptive techniques.
• Translates business needs into mathematical solutions, working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Implements and deploys machine learning (ML) and optimization algorithms at scale within digital tools in production.
• Integrates ML algorithms with databases, APIs, and user interfaces to ensure seamless operation in production environments.
• Builds and maintains dashboards, reports, and metrics from live, historical, and predictive data to support informed decision-making.
• Sources and ensures the integrity of data from multiple systems to generate insights for digital tools.
• Deepens understanding of complex business processes to create effective digital solutions aligned with business goals.
• Manages a portfolio of tasks within an agile team, focusing on timely, impactful project delivery and alignment with best practices.
• Communicates insights and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Embraces continuous learning in data science and contributes to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the team
  

What you'll bring to us:

• Numerate degree with large amount of the content covering data science, advanced analytics and/or operational research
• +5 years of relevant experience as a data scientists applying analytics, data science or operational research skills at scale. Preferably in Operations, airlines, railways, or shipping
• Technical expertise in analytical tools, modeling, SQL, Python (required), and other programming languages (preferred).
• Advanced analytical skills in data science, analytics, and Operational Research, with expertise in applying modeling techniques and tools like SQL and Python.
• Strong ability to define business problems, scope analysis, and identify key stakeholders for delivering targeted insights.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of presenting complex issues, highlighting key insights, and guiding decision-makers.
• Effective project management, independently handling multiple projects from start to finish, prioritizing work to meet business needs.
• Team-oriented, proactively sharing knowledge, receptive to feedback, and proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  

Location:

• Hybrid model at the office located in Hayes-West London
• Frequency: The employee must be available for up to 20-25% office presence (2- 3 days per week), based on client needs.
