About the opportunity
Are you ready to unlock the next level of data insights from an evolving Analytics product at Contentful? We’re looking for a skilled Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d) to build systems that apply Bayesian statistical models and (un)supervised machine learning models to billions of event data points. This is an exciting opportunity to work close to where the action happens, right at the intersection of advanced analytics, cloud technologies and product development.
As a Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d), you will work closely with our data engineers, product managers, and backend engineers to design, implement, and optimize statistical algorithms, ML systems and analytics solutions.
What to Expect?
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced statistical models and machine learning systems to deliver actionable insights and enhance platform performance at scale.
- Build systems that analyze billions of event data points, identifying trends, uncovering opportunities, and enabling effective attribution analysis for our customers.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to create intuitive and visually impactful representations of data, setting new standards for customer engagement.
- Spearhead initiatives in A/B testing, predictive modeling, customer behavior analysis, and attribution modeling to guide product and business strategies.
- Stay at the forefront of industry advancements by exploring and implementing emerging data science techniques, keeping Contentful's analytics capabilities best-in-class.
What you need to be successful
- Several years of professional experience in data science roles. A degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Python and data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying large-scale datasets and a strong understanding of database optimization.
- Solid understanding of probabilistic and statistical methods, including their application in A/B testing, attribution modeling, and predictive analytics.
- Strong foundations in neural networks, deep learning algorithms, and architectures (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers).
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, Git version control; Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform is nice to have.
- Familiarity with cloud-native data stacks, such as Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Vertex AI), or similar ecosystems.
- Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools such as MLFlow, Kubeflow, Wandb, or Ray.
- Familiarity with TypeScript for collaboration with backend teams is great but not required.
