Alfa is looking to hire a Senior Data Privacy Analyst who is eager to take the next step in their career. We are looking for someone who would be interested in investigating and then disseminating information about Data Privacy legislation relating to a new, unfamiliar territory amongst the team. Whilst initially focussing on Data Privacy and Alfa's obligation as a Controller, the right candidate should enjoy a future role with dual focus between Data Privacy (where Alfa acts as Controller or Processor) and Information Security and be keen to further their understanding in the complimentary fields of Data Privacy and Information Security.

Data Privacy is a vital aspect of everything we do for the products we provide and the services we offer.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate prior experience in Data Privacy, having taken lead roles in in Data Privacy programmes. With all members of the team undertaking either an Information Security degree, or alternatively, industry certification programmes in Data Privacy or Information Security paid for by Alfa, the successful candidate should expect to undertake similar training as part of their career development.
 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day Data Privacy program.

  • Draft and review policies and documents relating to Data Privacy .

  •  Conduct supplier reviews including a review of Data Processing Agreement/Addendums (DPAs).

  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

  • Compile Records of Processing Activities.

  • Assist in drafting International Data Transfers under both UK and EU GDPR.

  • Assist in promoting a positive Data Privacy culture at Alfa.

  • Share research activities with the Data Protection team when Alfa or Alfa’s client enter new geographical jurisdictions.

  • Compile schedules of auditing activities to include internal audits, external audits and client led audits which involve Data Privacy.

  • Participate in and eventually lead audit sessions in Data Privacy.

  • Record audit findings and track progress on remediation activities.

  • Perform Data Privacy risk assessments, in-line with Alfa’s risk assessment and treatment methodology.

  • Analyse and monitor Data Privacy risks arising from auditing activity.

  • Assist with internal and client audit requests involving Data Privacy, including the collation of evidence.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ability to self-manage, and commit and deliver to deadlines.

  • IAPP CIPP/E and CIPM certifications, or equivalents (either certifications or demonstrable working experience).

  • Knowledge of UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

  • Prior Data Privacy experience. 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • IAPP CIPP/US and/or working knowledge and understanding of Data Privacy legislation in jurisdictions outside of Europe.

  • Prior work as a consultant, working for a range of clients, in any field or industry.
