In Predictive Analytics we ingest datasets from all over the business, derive content from them, optimise and make them available for our Analytics applications. Using a variety of tools such as Snowflake, Fabric and RDBMSs, you will be responsible for creating high performance Cloud-based data pipelines and performing detailed data analysis tasks.

You will focus on creating a highly scalable, automated and reliable data ingest capabilities, responsive to the changing needs of the Analytics business.

This is an opportunity to collaborate locally and across the globe with highly motivated and knowledgeable Architecture, Application Delivery Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, and Developers in our effort to continually improve our Analytics products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking requirements for new dataset inputs for models, working with content teams to source the data, defining the best way to ingest it.

  • Deriving, enriching and combining content to make it useable within our Analytics.

  • Data-driven analysis and problem solving to overcome data quality issues.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define software system requirements and objectives.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure, focusing on scalability, reliability, automation, and performance.

  • Providing technical support to Operations or other development teams.

  • Manage software configuration, deployment, and release processes.

  • Supervise and optimize cloud costs.

  • Monitor and maintain system security profile.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

  • 5+ years experience with AWS Aurora MySQL as a DB administrator.

  • Self-sufficient, goal-oriented teammate with good social skills.

  • Well-honed problem solving skills.

  • Experience with configuring and adapting data ingest tools.

  • Knowledge/experience of Azure or AWS Cloud Technologies.

  • Proficiency with Version Control Tools and CI/CD Tools (Git, GitLab) and related concepts such as branching/versioning strategies etc.

  • Positive demeanour about learning new skills and technologies.

  • Ability to work in highly agile, Sprint-based team environment.

Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of Snowflake and other cloud-based data warehouse technologies like Microsoft Fabric.

  • Python development experience.

  • Knowledge of IaC and related technologies such as Terraform.

Education/ Certifications:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent is desirable, but experience and the right approach to work are just as meaningful.

  • Azure or AWS certification a nice to have.
